I used my sister as my model for my nail course back in March.
She kindly let me cut her long nails and now wishes to grow them back to their original natural length.
But, they have since become very thin and brittle, my course trainer recommended OPI 'Nail ENVY' soft and thin. She has been using this religiously exactly as the instructions detail, but to no avail.
Can anyone suggest an alternative please.....................?????
She helped me through my training so I kind of feel to blame-Help is needed!

I have a client who had terribly thin, brittle nails. I recommended
that she take nail and hair vitamins, mostly just hoping it would help.
It has been a miracle for her. She didn't spend a lot of money on
expensive vitamins, she bought some at our Walmart and her
nails have grown as well as her hair and there is a big difference
in the strenth and appearance of her nails. I hope this helps.

I done a manicure the other day,I commented on the ladies strong nails, she said she took a nail supplement she brought from Holland & Barrett.

That's interesting maybe we could suggest these supplements when clients come to us with nss nails

I wish I could find a miracle formula to help my nails....I have tried loadsa different things...stuff from holland & barrett, opi, calcium etc to NO avail....I am now trying a zinc supplement but my nails are so soft, peel and break very easily...I hate it....good luck

Toughen Up from CND is a nail strengthener that increases the cross-links in the nail plate, used in conjunction with CND's Solar Oil nails will be tougher and stronger.

I know nail damage can be caused by beginners but you should strive to keep your models/clients nails in good condition every time you work..... Nail damage is not an automatic consequence of nail enhancements. Be mindful of the natural nail when you blend tips and when you thin for a rebalance, and always soak your product off rather than have your clients pick it off!

Brittle nails can easily snap. Many products on the market are nail strengtheners which can mean nail hardeners. If a hard or brittle nail become too soft and flexible, it will tear. The space between keratinized cell are full of moisture from the nail bed beneath and from external sourse. The right amount of moisture will keep the nail flexible and help absorb shock.Too much and the nail bends ,too little and the nail become dry and brittle.useing creams and oils is beneficial as they can seal natural moisture in and also solur oils good, and keep too much out.HTHS.xx

I would definately go with CND Toughen Up and then a top coat like Super Shiney, then lashings of Solar Oil!

Sally Hansen isn't a professional brand!

Personally, I'd go with Toughen Up and Solar Oil (as said before :D)
