Hello, does anybody know where I can buy a cheap training hand for nails. Thanks.

Hi

I also have been looking at these. I found a few people on ebay selling them and also new ones on Essential Nails website.

Jayne:)

Have a look on ebay hun.

i got my nail trainer from ebay, its worth its weight in gold, just be prepared to give it a week or so x

Ebay is your best bet if you don't want to pay alot of money..!!!

xx

Thanks for all your replies. I've had a look on ebay and there is some cheap ones that cost about a fiver. Will one of these be ok to train on or I noticed there was another type with a clamp for £50 from China with no del charge. Thanks. Sarah

Don't know what the one from China is like, but you are as well going for the Essential Nails one. Get it second hand. If bits wear out or get damaged you can get replacement parts. The trainer is worth its weight in gold. Oh, and you have to gve it a name. Mine is Ugly Betty. xx

Haha, I love that, I'm going to have to think of a name for mine when it comes now!!

If you can get the Essential Nails/Gina Wallace one with the removable nails that click in, thats the best one. It clamps on the table as well. Expensive but if you search around you will eventually find one on ebay or similar.

Stay AWAY (far far away) from the ones that are just plastic without the nailplates you snap in. Everyone I know who has one tries using it, gets frustrated and it gets put into a corner of a closet.

Good Luck

Nancy

p.s. My dressmakers dummy is Lorinda so I named my hand the same and when I'm not using her I drape her around the dummy LOL

I got mine off ebay

I got mine from the swet squared shop at leeds....£128+vat

I bought mine new.Of course they are more expensive than ebay but you do know you are going to get everything you need.
On ebay with them being used quite often you just get the hand and have to get everything else separately and may end up paying nearly as much as new.
New they come with the tips, glue, primer, instructions etc and of course guarantee.
I also thought that eventually if i didn't use it i would just just sell it on but probably on the guild site rather than ebay.

I completely agree. You have to go for an Essential Nail trainer, i bought one of those cheaper ones and ended up sending it back to them for a refund because you just CAN NOT train on them.
I got so angry with it!!!

So i spent more than i wanted to BUT it is worth every single penny and more. I did but new fingers for it, just personal preference as someone else had used it.

I didnt know that i needed to name it .... hum, the first name that comes to mind is SASSY, i was watching homeward bound today and the cat is called Sassy!!!

Can you use any primer, glue etc ? or does it have to be a special kind because of the material of the practise hand ?

If you are using an essential nails hand, glue is fine. I use a bit of scrubfresh to take away my greasy finger prints off.
Then away i go with doing the nails!!

Hope this helps.
