hiya:)...
i got my nails done on saturday but two of them were hurting for the next two days.. its not now but it was really sore..

and now it looks like i need my infills(if thats the right word lol) done already..
isnt that way too quick?

the first time ive had white tips due to me doing hair.. but assumed they would last the same as when i used to have the other ones..
i used to get them infilled every 2 weeks where i used to go...
but this is a new nail shop ive used as im too far away now...

did you have gel or l&p?
i wear l&p and sometimes feel tight for a day or 2 but not painful.

Not an expert on gel although i believe that they can feel uncomfertable after because of the way they cure if you have thin, damaged nails. im sure somebody who is qualified in gel will be able to help you if you have had gels done.

I wouldn't have thought nails be it gel or liquid and powder should hurt at all? Heat spike maybe with gel if you have damaged nails but that lasts seconds and then is gone. Maybe tips too small a size? Not sure. I'm sure a wise geek will give you the info your after! X x x

I know hair colours can make my natural nails tender, like if a bleach mix gets on them so if i applied nails they can feel a bit sore but then again my nail beds wouldnt be great due to constantly removing and re applying.

but you definately shouldnt see a re growth at this stage, they may be thicker than normal near the cuticle area, maybe cuticle wasnt pushed back properly so product was placed too far from them.

whites wouldnt make any difference, i'm sure the girl wont mind if you pop into her and ask for them to be thinned and tidyed up. plus it would be good for her to see how they look now, maybe she isnt at nails too long so you will almost be helping her learn xx

If you had white tips put on, they might have put on tips that were too small. This can cause 'pull' up and cause pain.
Best thing is to go back and see them and explain about the discomfort and the fact they look like they need and infill already.
Best of luck and I hope you get all sorted
xx

i dont do colours i just do extensions... so i dont have contact with bleach etc.

im just more wondering why its starting to look like it needs to be done so soon..

i went in they said they'd infill it for £15 instead even though i had it done saturday..

il try somewhere else next time... i hate going to new places as you never know what you'l get

i wonder if that what it is.. it was like it was puling from both sides.

tips may not be the same shape as your own nails so when they have been attatched the plastic will try to revert back to the moulded shape and will pull the natural nail too.

or it could be that you were feeling the shrinkage of the acrylic during the full curage of the acrylic. this can take up to 48 hours and shrinkage is greater when the mix ratio of the product is not quite correct. applying the product too wet will lead to this.

additionally it may be that you were feeling the after effects of filing.

it might be coz ur pregnant huni - im pregnant and need infills a lot sooner than usual! Can barely go a week without havin to do infills. Luckily i do them myself so can save the pennies!!!!! lol!! Its just to do with hormones n that.
Just a thought......

I believe the closer you are to your due date, the faster nails and hair both grow. I can't remember off the top of my head but Doug Schoon has some interesting info in his book on it - only I don't have it to hand. I'll check tomorrow.
