Hi Hun,
Are you buffing the shine off these tips, just had a look at mine, they are quite a thick tip, and very shiney, maybe you are leaving a bit of the shine in places.
I stopped using NSI Elation and swapped to CND Performace tips, much thinner and nicer to use.
Good luck. Hope this is some help.
Lotsa luv x  x

Hia chic,

That may be it, no Ive not been taking the shine off I am blending but not all over the tip - ur a star will try this, seems like that could be the problem! duh! lol xx

i was thinking the same thing about removing the shine
can i ask what you mean by blending as your using white tips which require no blending just remove the shine,i like to use a white sanding block for this, however i also stopped using nsi tips and i love the cnd performance tips and pro impressions which are cheaper they are both fab.
i love nsi products but ive always felt there tips were abit too thick for me personally.x

yeah I know what u mean, I just feel I like to remove the raised area on the tip slightly as it seems to stick out - and they are slightly thick, do you not think I should do this?
I may try he CDN ones too
Thanks for ur help x

its hard to say without seeing it but i dont think i could be bothered with all the hassel as for most people using white tips is ment to be easier and less time consuming.
im sure you could phone cnd and they will send you out some free samples and pro impressions if you wanted to try them first.x

I stopped using the gel over white tips for the same reason. Its fine with the clear and natural, it just seemed to happen with the white tips. I was told (cant remember by who) that the gel cant completely cure through the white tip:!:

oh no i cant believe this - i have done the things advised and have redone a clients full set to just recieve phone call its happend again, and i have just done a new customer today with a full set too so its bound to happen to her ... why is this happening - i am taking shine off tips now but the gel has just cracked off again on 4 of the nails just where the tip is,..... i cant believe it I am so upset - I have just started my own business renting an area of a salon and all these people are new customers.....any thoughts as to why this is happening??

Exactly! There lies your answer hun, gel will not cure through white tips. You have to use clear or natural tips. The uv light cannot penetrate through the white tips with the gel. When you use clear or natural tips you have to make sure that they are etched enough with a 180 grit abrasive so that gel can adhere to them.

You have to bite the bullet and use either a white sculpting gel or a paint on white to get the french look.

hth:)

Please excuse me. I'm a total newbie.

Should white tips never be used with gel then?

We used them in college last week and I also got a small pack with my NSI Balance kit.

In a word no they shouldn't be used with gel, as they are opaque and then adding gel, the gel cannot cure properly. To be fair I have never tried white tips with gel as I have known this as a complete no no, but if for the sake of an experiment I will try it and get back to you on it, but I don't hold up much hope, in any case it is always great to be able to do it with white gel.
:)

did you try this?Did you use white tips with gel and if so did they cure ok?would love to know as didn't know this about the white tips and gel....thks:eek:
