I hope one (or more) of you can help me out here. I have had a trapped nerve in my right arm for a little over 6 months now. It was OK/moderate pain to begin with, just felt like a dead, heavy feeling, more irritating than painfull.
However this has begun to get progressively worse & has kept me awake for the past few nights. The pain in numb, heavy, tingly, irritating oh & hurting.
The pain comes from nowhere, I don't need to be doing anything which funnily enough is often when it comes on  so what does that say about me??

Anyway I was hoping in a nice way that some of you may have experienced this problem & could pass on any ideas/remedies for me to try. My pain threshold is good but it's really getting me down now.
I am waiting for an x-ray appointment as my doc is confused as I have excellent all round flexibility & movement, nothing broken then!!!!!!
Hubby ( well as good as ) has suggested accupunture which I'm up for if it will do the job.

Look forward to any suggestions you might have.

I have suffered alot in the past with a bad back and whiplash injuries. I found Chiropractors are great, but the best help has been with a physio who does sports massage. I find that a deep massage help release these things. Most can also offer acupuncture and tens machines.

It can be expensive, but worth every penny when you are in pain, I know as Ive spent 5 years in pain with whiplash !

I hope you get sorted soon !

Hi Ya, first of all ouch, you poor thing. Ive never experienced it but my mum has been extremely ill and they couldnt diagnose anything this was not related to her arm but her head keep with me here i will get to the point lol! and shes had thousands of scans etc then she got a phone call from a physiotherapist at the hospital went in for an appointment and they have diagnosed a trapped nerve in her spinal cord and from this it has effected her head, stomach and legs as it is all linked. It was so strange how even her legs and stomah were bad from a trapped nerve in her spinal cord at the top of it. She used to look at websites etc so ive put a link attached and hope it works it may not be of any use to you at all but also may be of help:

if it doesnt work let me know anyway hope you do find a cure to it soon x x

Hi Sonia

It's only an idea, but you may be suffering from Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) - no doubt your GP will be able to confirm whether or not that is the case.

In the meantime, for further info relating to RSI, check out the following website:- www.rsi-uk.org.uk

Hope you feel lots better soon.

hi there....i think a chiropractor is deffo your best bet to get yourself sorted out......both my dad and my fiance have had trapped nerves in their shoulders lately and they were sent to physio which done nothing for them at all so they both payed privately to see a chiropractor and they worked wonders within a few sessions :)
the good thing is a chiropractor can also suss out if its something different causing the pain and they will then send you back to your doctor for a second opinion

it can work out quite expensive and to be honest it happened at a bad time for my fiance as we are trying to get much needed baby items together and it has left us out of pocket but it was well worth it to ease the pain he was in as he couldnt do anything but pace the floor for hours at a time

ooh you poor thing, thought i might add ,it could also be carpell tunnel syndrome , my sister had this and was in agony, i would go see your DR straight away , so they can refer you to a specialist ,
i have just started getting really bad shooting pains up my arm, (mostley my left ) and it always seems to come on when i have been busy , so it looks like i am gonna have to research this myself, good luck hun , take care love dee

My mum had acupuncture for tennis elbow and it sorted it out where all else failed. She's also had carpel tunnel syndrome and one of the symptons is you lose all sensation in your fingers, they gradually become completely numb.

I knew you wouldn't let me down. I did ask my Dr about RSI as I tend to be a frequent computer user :wink2: , more so than using a file  not that busy, but he ruled this out.

Anyway I will wait for the x-ray, search the siteS you have recommended & go from there. I will try the massage just for the hell of it & soldier on.
What's that I hear you say ......... Ahhhhhhh

Cheers guys
