Client has rung me this morn to say that she has numbness in her toes but pain and cant feel them, I did an application of minx on June 4th (last Thur) she says this feeling has been with her the last few days and is asking willthe minx be causing it or my application? I cant see how as I did basic work dry pedi (basic) clipped nails short then filed but not too short cucticle remover (cnd) cleansed bufed and then applied minx, the nails were very long feet were unkempt she has never had a pedi before and always worn boots etc (horsey lady). They looked great and no cuts or file burns etc etc could this be a connection should I remove minx? refer to doctor?

I don't see how it can be anything do to with the Minx....its only a nail covering.

Hi Hun,
If she can't feel her toes.......How can she feel pain in them???
Cannot be anything to do with the Minx. Tell her to go to her Doctor.
Is she an insurance scammer???
Be careful of any advice you give.......pass her over to the medical profession.
Good luck and keep us all updated.
Lotsa luv x   x

Just spoke to her again to be certain there are no signs of infection, swelling redness bruising throbbing tenderness and she says that it is not the actual nail or free edge area that the feeling or not the feeling is ( i did say if they are numb you should not feel any any pain LOL) it is underneath her toe and the surface behind the matrix???? (it could be the fact that she is now wearing toe post sandals and this may be rubbing or she may be walking differently with more pressure on her toes) I have asked her to go to the doc`s and let me no how she gets on, she is not a scam mer at least I dont think so, as she comes to me for enhancements & tans for the last 8 months and I have had her sister as a client for 4 years. Thanks for your quick response guys your always there when I need you.. I am confident that this is nothing to do with my treatment or application. xxxx

This is caused by a circulation problem and she should see her GP. It is also one of the early signs of diabetes (although I would not mention this) and anything like this should be reported to a doctor.

Thanks - She has said she will call doc for appointment. xxx

You have some great advice from other geeks already. It does make me laugh how these clients are so quick to assume it the Therapists fault. It's only a bit of Minx. Just unlucky for you it happened to her afterwards. But I wouldn't worry, it cant be you.
xxx

Would it not be possible that she could be developing a reaction to the adhesive used in minx (just a suggestion - not saying this is the case)!

Just seems coincidental to be occuring after minx application, if she has never had this before. Yes you can feel pain with numbness - sounds odd but pain is felt via nerve receptors, numbness is circulatory. For instance - amputees often complain of pain in the limb which has been removed (called phantom pain).

Either way - no one is to blame here or at fault, these things can happen!

Hi let us know what she says when shes been to the dr please x

No, it is not possible. It really isn't. There is no coincidence. People look for blame but this is a medical issue and nothing at all to do with the adhesive which is fixed to the dead tissue of the nail plate... no way it can enter the body to affect it in any way.

Ok - so absolutely no chance whatsoever that adhesive would have not come into contact with any surrounding tissue. People can have a severe reaction to elastoplast - it happens.

I am in no way saying that this IS the case - may well not be - and no way indicating blame - absolutely no one would be at fault obviously - I just do not think this should be categorically dismissed - I would be very interested to hear what the outcome is.

I stress - it is not about blame!
