I have just had a lovely day - just pottering in my jammys (pyjamas for the non-Scots).

I've been working 6 -7 days a week since February and today I decided not to PLAN anything....it was wonderful:)

Do you ever have just a 'pottering' day?

Example - longish lie-in, geeked for a while, weeded the garden, did a washing, geeked for a while, did an ironing, geeked for a while, pottered in the garden, had dinner and a glass of wine, etc, etc, etc,

Pottering is SO good sometimes, do you guys ever have a day like that, where there is no RUSH to achieve something?

I love pottering days - I try and make Mondays my pottering days - recovering from having the kids over the weekend LOL. I love them to bits really.

i love those days, mondays are my pottering days too, kids to school, no college, fanny in the garden, bit of baking , washing stuff like coats and things that really dont need washing, "just mellow at your own pace, doing your own thing" days

I had a similar day to yours yesterday.. I didnt get dressed all day.. and just pottered. I didn't get any gardening done though lol!

I basically got up at 7 with my lad and geeked while eating my cornflakes, then filled the dishwasher, geeked a little more and watched kids tv until I found myself dozing in the chair. Went into the salon and set up ready for my facial in the morning and cleaned my display cabinet out. Geeked some more. Hung some washing out between the showers and dodging neighbours seeing me in my nighty.

Made a some lunch and geeked a little more. I even got my hubby and son to go the supermarket for some salad bits we needed for dinner while I geeked some more lol!

Had a nap on the sofa... watched tv for a while. And apart from cooking dinner I didnt do anything else.. but watch tv and geek a little.

I felt very lazy.. my poor lad had a day of playing Wi and watching tv but he seemed to like it for a change. We took him bowling today to make up for being lazy yesterday.

But yes.. it is very good to slob about now and again and do nothing but potter and today I have felt much more chilled and relaxed

I love pottering days....easy going...no plans...do what feels good....leave what doesnt...

We usually have a Sunday dinner but this week broke all the rules and hand made beefburgers...fries and salad....lots of relish and washed down with larger !!..(well the kids had juice...)....i even did what gave me my name bagpuss....had a afternoon nap.

Today... it was fab, couldn't sleep last night (due to the heat), read my book in the living room with the air con on until 3am lol, went to bed, got up at 10am 'ish and pottered for a bit, had my daughter's friend over for the day, cooked paella this afternoon, went for a swim or two, had our neighbour up for food and he stayed the rest of the day, I think due to jugs of sangria and food lol... it's been a fab day :green:

I like having sundays as my pottering day in my (scot here:lol:)jammys
I work 5 days a week and saturdays are a busy day shopping,do washing, ironing ect.. ect..then sundays i do not do anything at all ,i always have a long lie-in ,sometimes i geek for a while, then have dinner ,geek a little while longer then watch telly still in my jammys ..i'm not particularly keen on sundays as there is nothing to do but sundays are my lounging about days after a long hardworking week..:)

Sunday & monday are my pottering days, like nothing better than climbing out of bed and lounging in my jimjams, the little fella does the same:lol:

We get up and have brekki, he plays while i geek, check ebay, play bingo, pay bills online etc then we have a snuggies on the sofa where we usually both fall back asleep.

Today i may stay in my jimjams till around dinner then try wash my hair one handed lol Drying and straightening will be out the window so will be walking round like ive had my hand in the plug sockets

Its a lovely sunny day so if i can drag myself away from geekland i might sit out and read a book:green:

haha...I had to click on this thread because I have no idea what "pottering" is. LOL! I'm american...I have honestly never heard the term!
I gather it means the same as "bumming around" for us.
Pottering...hahaha the word just makes me laugh!

Sometimes reading the nail geek posts I get confused! Your words are so different than ours sometimes!

I am going to miss my pottering days now that the school holidays have begun! Roll on September for more mooching around and geeking! x

Oooh lucky you (and I know the term jammys as I'm a relocated Scot too!!)

I honestly can't remember the last time I did that where I wasn't ill. Probably long before my youngest was born ,he's 3 1/2.

Pottering around - bumming around to our american friends
Jammies,jammys,jimjams - pyjamas nightclothes
Baffies - slippers(comfy footwear you wear in the house)
Gownie - dressing gown or perhaps a nightshirt

sorry had to add:)
