I'm currently using IBD gel, but am thinking about converting to Brisa gel so today I went out and bought a starter pack of the Brisa gel and tried it out on myself and love it! But, I've found that after I put the final top coat on my nail and set it and cleaned the unset gel, it's not shiny and it looks like it's shrunk on my nail so I've ended up with little dents in the gel.
I used my IBD gel lamp, so would that have anything to do with it? Is it absolutely necessary to use the Brisa lamp with the Brisa product? Also, is the lamp a 2-hander lamp or 1-hand?

XX Chrissy :)

Yes it is absolutely necessary to use the Brisa lamp with the Brisa gel.
It is all to do with the UV output, and that there are fewer photo initiators in Brisa (although more efficient ones!) hence you are less likely to get heat spike.

The lamp is 1 hand.

Thank you so much for your help. I'm definately going to look into getting the brisa lamp. :)

There's a promotion coming up in the US and in the UK for the lamp at a reduced price, check with your distributer to see if it is happening wth you. xx

Ok, went out and bought the Brisa gel lamp, but it's still not shiny!! :( I'm so sad.

It's a shinier than my first try, but it's not super shiny like I'd like it to be!! Am I doing something wrong maybe, or is the top coat not meant to be that shiny?

Try little bit thicker and drop you brush over the free edge to seal it.

How do you remove the sticky layer on top of the topcoat? Try wiping with a dry pad, then a pad with solar oil to remove the last... I think after I started doing this I got a much higher shine.
But to be honest you need the convension class aswell as there are quite a few tricks with the brisa thats hard to learn by yourself (if not impossible:irked:)

I've had no other issue other than the shine. Other than that I LOOOOOVE the Brisa. I've been an avid IBD user since college, and I loved it. But Brisa is just... awesome. I used it today and found after the client washed her hands the gel came up shiner, but I will try the SolarOil trick as well. :)

Thanks guys! Mucho appreciated.

The sticky dispersion layer should be removed with a pad moistened with Scrubfresh, alcohol or acetone - it is uncured gel and represents an overexposure risk so should be done with care - HTH

Adele is right..srcubfresh would be your best bet, The Brisa Topgloss is best applied with a floating motion...if its applied too thin it will not be shiny and can cause those little dents you mention. Try apply it more even and thicker.

Make sure you apply the topcoat to a dust free surface but dont scrubfresh before applying the topcoat as this can cause little dips or patches.

PM me and i will send you the official report on IBD vs. Brisa

gladly but not in this forum- im not here to put other makes down:!:

I have always removed the dust and then used a little scrubfresh to ensure there are no oils on the nail and then top glossed with no problem at all....the only time i have had dips or patches is when i have applied to thin

When I took the brisa class I was taught to not use scrubfresh on the topcoat, and I have seen it mentioned here somwhere too. It was somewhere around a year ago as my educator was told this on bootcamp...
Apparently they found out that scrupfresh damages the topcoat a bit.

Mmmmm...my training was in 04 but they way i was trained was still the same as when i attended The Event last year....scrubfresh and Brisa is fine.

So now we need an official statement from cnd.

I'll try to find where I read it on here and maybe from more official source.

Forgot to write that my educator was not new, it was a refresh-bootcamp and everyone here in denmark is taught this by official cnd distributor.

yep your right angie,

before using brisa gloss remove dust and debris and then lightly go over with a plastic backed pad and scrubfresh, then apply brisa gloss and remove the inhibition layer again with plastic backed pad and scrubfresh, then solar oil.
I would think in this case maybe the gloss has been applied to thin and has dragged (this would cause pitting)
