Geeks I am hoping that someone who does lash extensions can give me some advise.
I did a set on my sister a week ago and she has just phonned to ask me if I think she could have an allergy to the glue. This has only started today and she says that her eye lids are so itchy. When she rubs them they are watering.
I have asked her if any of them are digging in anywhere or starting to come off, she says no.
She's not using any new products on her face. There is no swelling.
I'm confused because surely if she had an allergy to the glue then this would have happened before now and the glue hasnt touched her eyelids :irked:

I have told her that if she has no swelling then I will remove them for her but I just want to know...why could they be itching?

I would say that most likely some ar digging into her eyelid - she would not see them if they where - she cannot see them closely from above. Also she said they are watering when she rubs her eyes - this confirms that some of the lashes are either very close or actually digging in... I don't think it's allergy...

Priory thank you for your reply. I am getting her over to check them out. I thought that some must be digging into her. They were my first set that I have done so most probably something I have done wrong.

Hi Kylie

I have just been to a clients house tonight and got 1 lash on about to do the second and she said her eye was itching and sore, I took the gel pads off thinking it was them but no she pointed exactly to where the 1 lash was. I removed the lash and checked her skin to make sure there was no adhesive, there wasn't, I flushed her eye out. Don't know if all reactions are this quick but wouldn't imagine it would take a week.

Hi Kylie,

I would think as said above the likely culpret is a lash too close to the root that is possibly not attached at the base, therefore digging in causing itching.

Also ask your sister if the itching only begins after she has had a quick scratch. Sometimes it can be like a chain reaction, begin scratching and then it becomes almost impossible to stop..itching frenzy.

Reactions usually occur within 24 hours but can happen outside of this but a week may be unrealistic for it to be a reaction to the applied lashes, it may be something else/other product/make up?

I think have a good root through and check, remove that little begger x
