Heres my first project, hope I can do it as much justice as Emerald Beauty!! :o

Wonder if any nail geeks can help me here. Iv seen this dressing table on eBay & I really want something like this as my manicure table but unsure on the measurements. I'll post o pic & the measurements & let me know what you think xx

Here are the measurements.....
120cm wide
54cm deep
79cm high (to table top)
xx

Yes, I'm going to reupholster, seen some gorgeous fabric that I want, just need to work out how much to buy now. I would say the depth is perfect on that table, mine is 52cm deep and although I've not personally used it yet as still setting up its the one all the other nail geeks use from Ikea. That is a beautiful desk, I want to get a vintage style now :irked:

xx

That will be gorg! I'm still trying to find a church pew for my hall,

I hope you get your pew, just send a few heavys round to the Chinese and get them to 'repossess' it for you :wink2: xx

Heres my fabric that I want, my little home salon will be called Flutterbyz so butterflies is the running theme, not sure what colour paint to get, I want to try the Henrietta paint as most of my stuff is black and fushia but not sure it will be to pink for the style iykwim. Is the Laura Ashley paint called chalk paint as I can't seem to find it on line. Going down there today to have a mootch but would like to know exactly what I'm looking for. xx

Oooh these can be pricey. They get quite a few in my local auction though - had one in for the last 3 weeks (not the same one each week clearly lol). The decorative one went for over £250 while the very basic one went for around £100 if I remember rightly. OH would love one for our hall too but I think our hall is just too weird a shape to have it sitting comfortably in .... perhaps one for a future house though :D Good luck finding one x

Jojo, LOVE that nail desk!

Beautiful fabric hun. Keep us updated on how your getting on with it xx

I loooove upcycling I did my desk here in the salon, it was ugly brown varnish when I got it, although I do kinda feel bad because the top is the most gorgeous walnut. When I get my new desk, this one will be stripped back to wood and waxed.

My favourite website is - Design*Sponge | Your home for all things Design. Home Tours, DIY Project, City Guides, Shopping Guides, Before & Afters and much more I can spend houuuuuuurs looking at what other people have done. Highly recommended!

Thanks for this site!

Jojo I love that desk its beautiful!

Laney, do you know how to upholster? Or are you learning? I am trying to find what I need on youtube. I love the material too, where is it from?

I have a funny chair though, like this one but its faded pink and the seat is broken so I am just trying to figure out how to fix it...I took the underneath off and there was a foam cushion supported by canvas straps and the straps were broken...chair.jpg

A pic of the couch I mentioned that we had won at auction :) You will be glad to know I dont plan to paint it hehe

It's a beautiful table isn't it!! Just looked at it again on eBay & it's gone up in price sooo much! ;-(
Your chair is fab xx

Oh nooooo! Im not surprised though its lush.

Love the pink couch! What a bargain!

I was up for about 6 hrs last night googling upholstery! Theres a place near me called the recycled goods company and they do courses as well as selling old furniture, some of it refurbed. You can get some bargains to up cycle. Ive seen dressers like that style jojo in my local heart foundation charity shop, a bit shabbier but you could do it up x

Oh really?! I might get looking in charity shops then. It's now at £290 :-/ x

Iv seen this waiting chair on eBay too. Do you think it will be enough for a waiting area? I was originally thinking 2 or 3 chairs but then like the look of this! I'm mainly one in one out, there's only a few occasions where clients have come together or brought their friend or child xx

I've never upholstered in my life lol, hubby helped me take the old cover off last night and it doesn't seem like to hard of a job. Just a hell of a lot of staples and upholstery nails lol.Your chair looks like it could be tricky though!! Would be lovely all done up if you could do it. I've seen that fabric on Ebay, reckon I'd only need a meter but best to be in safe side and order over. Xx

Jojo, you could make that one a feature chair if its not to much and get another chair and paint it same with same material if you reupholster xx
