Hi geeks

Just a question, what is the difference between the new shellac lamp and a normal UV lamp.

I did not realise that when using shellac that you had to have a special lamp so ordered my salon rack and cannot use it yet as i did not order the light and cannot really afford to buy it yet has i have only just invested in a new UV lamp a few months ago:sad:

i do calgel nails so if or when i were to invest in the shellac lamp would this still cure calgel as well as with been a mobile tech dont really want to be having to carry around two different lamps in my car boot

To be honest, you cannot afford to be without the CND UVLamp!! It is a very economical price that you will make up in half a dozen Shellac treatments. The features of the CND UV Lamp are also better than any other on the market. The lamp is digitally programmed to tell you how many hours you've used it so you know when to change the bulbs without having to resort to guesswork ... It counts down for you at every cure so you know how mich time is left ... It has multiple buttons for multiple cure times ... It cures all five fingers at once saving at least eight minutes of your time and a cool handle for easy carryi g if mobile. Everything has been thought of

Omg I'm getting so excited can't wait for my lamp to come.:D

I didnt realise i need to buy a new lamp either when I purchased my shellac!
But i found and old lamp at home which i got from the edge when i was training and it worked fine :)

Though i have a brisa lamp on its way :) but i really wanted to test it out and see if it worked! and shellac is tooooo amazing! Love it!!

I shall now wait patiently to get my brisa lamp!

was that just a normal uv lamp that you used as i have a daylight one that i use for calgel. when i tried shellac with it it left a sticky layer on top

Shellac has an inhibition layer after curing, remove this with d.sperse or an alcohol solution, but not an acetone based product.

If you're not using the recommended lamp then you can't be sure of under/over curing which can lead to over-exposure. It's fine to use the Brisa lamp (grey one) to cure Shellac.

People were using the Brisa lamp at the Expo and removing with alcohol swabs. Worked fine from where I was sitting.

Look ... The Brisa UV lamp will of course cure Shellac if you have one. The new CND UV lamp is now the new and much improved version and it will cure both CND Brisa gels AND Shellac. The new lamp is not for only Shellac but for all CND lamp will cute ALL CND UV cured products.

AND ...... it has removable hand plates so you can easily do Brisa/Shellac Toes ! I love it.

And you can use it as an enamel dryer !!

Seen a post somewhere on here about opening up the lamp to remove something. Sorry if this sound daft, I just took it out the box and starting using it, what do I need to remove?

And how do you remove the hand plate to do toes?

The iside of your lamp shuld be silver and shinny like a mirror, if its blue thats what you need to pick off, also get the hidden bits under the tray andthe lid you take off to put bulbs in has it under, :)
