Wow, nooreenoconnor those pictures are incredible! Beautiful work.
I only qualified in Make Up last month and did my first bridal trial last week - she was thrilled (she had a few very red spots and dark eye bags that needed covering).
Why do you think? Any tips and guidance would be very much appreciated, I was shaking throughout the appointment with nerves! I don't feel it's up to scratchbut what do you all reckon I could improve upon?

It looks really natural so well done I'm not sure if it's the lighting but i think she still looks a little dark underneath the eyes. did you just use concealer or did you use a colour corrector too ? If you haven't used a colour corrector i would highly recommend one, i like the bobbi brown ones but there are plenty good ones on the market at the moment, if your pale like me then it's good to try them on the back of your wrist if you can see your viens, if it will cover those when blended it should cover dark circles. Also if your going to take a pic (esp of a bride) make sure you do it in the best possible light to show the make up to its best, i've zoomed in to the pic and had a good look at it but the lighting is doing it no favors , bring her by a window that has plenty of light coming through to take the pic xx

Thankyou! I just used a glitter liner all over the lid then pressed some solid gold glitter into it. It's great stays on all night and doesn't crease!

Thank you! I wasn't taught to use a colour corrector on my training, but I have searched - is that where you use lilac and green shades etc to "cancel out" the shadowed skin tones? If so, then I have camouflage cream from ArtDeco which I will have to have a play with. Sorry, I'm not very experienced and if I'm honest my course wasn't great so I'm just finding my way!
I see what you mean about the pic, I did her makeup in daylight and then did her nails - by the time I got to taking pictures it was dark outside! The photo is with my salon lighting which isn't particularly flattering, unfortunately. She didn't want people to see her makeup online because she wants it to be a surprise on the day so luckily it didn't matter so much in the end! I wi remember your tips for the day though

Yes colour correctors come in a wide variety of colours and you would really benefit from learning colour theory inside out as it applies to all aspects of make up. Everything from covering tattoos, to bringing out someones eye colour !
In a nut shell your client will have predominately blue or purple undertones underneath her eyes, if she has blue you need a peach corrector to cancel out the blue tones , if you look at your picture there is a grey cast under the eyes, no amount of concealer alone will mask this with out looking very heavy so a tiny tiny bit of corrector will "cancel" out the colour before you go on to conceal. If she is predominately purple under the eyes you may get away with a very yellow based concealer ( any nc shade in mac will be very yellow)

When complimentary colours (colours that are opposite each other on the colour wheel) and placed side by side they enhance the look of each other for instance when you put orange based colours next to blue eyes they pop. however when complimentary colours are placed over each other they cancel each other out , ie blue under eye circles are cancel out by peach concealer
Most used in make up:
purple and yelllow : useful for covering bruises yellow will cancel out purple, similarly if someone is looking a bit jaudice or sallow a purple primer can help brighten the complexion up
red and green: red lipstick is often used of tattoos before concealing to help block some of the green pigment out, and similarly if someone has very red cheeks green primer can be used over the cheeks however i tend not to use this as it can look un-natural
blue and orange , copper eyeshadows look amazing on blue eyes and agian peach concealers are very popular for under the eyes

I trained in a local college near me but to be honest it was very very basic and not really worth the certificate (although at least I can get insurance with it) .
To be honest I am mainly self taught, and i think no matter what course you do you will probably end up learning as you go along.
I don't believe that there is a right or wrong way to do make up, it's all subjective and down to your own personal style, and of course is dependent on what genre of make up you want to focus on. I'd say do what ever course is near you that you like the sound of, then grab loads of friends and get practicing study make up on celebrities and try to dissect it and see how it was achieved etc .
ps i'm a bit of a freak when it comes to learning about anything so i have spend probably hundreds of hours devouring information about anything make up related
