Hi!

Are you filing down the acrylic to "break the seal" and debulk as much as possible? That helps.

20 minutes isn't so bad actually. This is what I do when soaking off:

Take a lint free pad soaked in acetone and apply to debulked acrylic, wrap in tin foil and put on all ten fingers. Then, I use a heating pad (like one of the gel ones you can use in the microwave) wrapped in a towel and lay that OVER the tin foiled fingers. Leave on for about 10 minutes and then check one finger to see how soft the old acrylic is. If its soft enough, I use a cuticle pusher to scrape off the old acrylic (It usually comes off in two goes per finger for me) and then I remove all the tin and pads and proceed.

HTH's Keep us posted OK?

Good Luck :)

I only use the foil method if I need to soak off one or two enhancements while I can still get on and work on the rest of the nails ... never for a full set removal .... far too much faffing around IMO.

For a full set soak off I use remover in an Easy Soak. Or in a bowl that sits in another bowl of hot water to help speed up the whole process which takes about 15 minutes and doesn't require usually more than one soak. Immerse finger nails and cover all with a soft towel and leave for the whole time before starting to scrape off the softened material. Much less costly and much quicker than wrapping and unwrapping all those foils etc.

That's the same method I use. I believe it works excellent b/c it doesnt allow the acetone to evaporate quickly and it works much faster! I love this method and have used it for the last 6 years with much sucess over any other!

i have seen a nice easy soak bowl but until i get that can i just place the fingertips in a bain marie of acetone?(i think this is what you were describing?)
how do you make sure not too much skin is in the acetone?

happy new year btw :)

Sure you can ... that's how it's been done for 2 decades before anything like Easy Soak came along

About an inch of product remover in the bowl is sufficient to cover the enhancments up to about the first knuckle. I don't use acetone I always use product remover which is chemically buffered so that it does not dry out the skin ... that is why it is a little more expensive (but not much) and well worth using the right thing.

hi hun i file some of the acrylic to roughen it up then soak nail wipe in acetone using tin foil, wrapping each finger, with the heat from my table lamp this helps by warming up. about 10 - 15 min comes off lovely using my cutical pusher, with less mess i find this works for me x let me know how you get on x
