How do you get all the tan off so that you can respray. Have been told baby oil for 2-3 hours on skin, then nice hot bath and exfoliate, but question would the baby oil leave the skin to moist for respray the next day? Or could you shower and exfoliate?

Thanks

Flower

never tried the baby oil method to get it off? not sure if it would work, why do you want to get it off anyway? should be ok next day provided they have thoroughly washed all the oil off? dont know how much of it would sink into their skin though? suppose its same as moisturising the day before? dont know if that has helped! lol

loads of soap on a flannel and a good scrub!!! besides it doesnt all have to be off if there is abit left just exfoliate as normal your re spray should cover it providing the tan was a decent one and its not too dark or pathchy

Thanks girls I want to top my own tan up tonight and exfoliated last night, but some stayed on. Also have a client who wants a spray tan and says she's all patchy from a bad tan and how could she get it off for a fullbody tan.

If the tan had been on for a few days and was fading evenly.. you could 'top up' with the client doing a gentle exfoliation in problematic areas such as heals, elbows, feet and hands plus the collar bone.

If the tan was patchy or had build up with continuous tans.. then I would suggest using an oil based exfoliant and ask them to give a much deeper prep... I offer this a treatment in my salon to be done the day before the respray if the client desires for it to be done. I can get a lot more removed with using my body brush and get in to areas that the client may find more difficult.

I picked up a great 'recipe' for exfoliation from an old thread on here by Amy de man....(Miss ya Amy )

It is absolutely lush, a real natural pamper treatment and leaves your skin in gorgeous, perfectly primed condition for your next tan.

Firstly....make sure you have an uninterrupted 30 or 40 minutes, and a pineapple....don't worry I am not going to suggest using the pineapple itself to scrub !

Now, extract some juice from the fresh pineapple.....it crushes out easy enough, or even better if you have a juice extractor. It must be fresh jiuce though....not out of a carton! You don't need much.....about 1/2 a cup and add to it a bit of diluted lemon juice.

Then in the bathroom, stood on a towel, slather it all over your body. The pineapple juice contains an enzyme called Bromelain, and along with the fruit acids these are a superb chemical exfoliater. Then cover yourself in olive oil and let it all get to work for 20 mins.

Hop in the shower, with a good pair of scrubby mitss and scrub scrub scrub...a gentle shower gel lifts any oil residue off the skin, you don't need much pressure, and you will be abslutely amazed at what comes off your body. I have done it when I didn't think I had any tan left at all, and there was tons washing away!

Hayls tried it and loved it a few weeks back to shift a stubborn St Tropez tan, and last weekend I had a bride who had a spray tan (done elsewhere) go wrong on her with 4 days to go. This recipe shifted every last dodgy bit and I then re-sprayed her to perfection. She was so grateful and even sent me a wee card afterwards to thank me for saving her day! I have to say it made mine!

And the very best bit....eating the remainder of the yummy pineapple!

Sounds yummy - I might try that myself! A lot cheaper than exfoliator too :green:
