I have just spoken to a friend of mine who has her sprays done by a lady who uses Vani-T, and she told me that it went blue-a blue black tinge????

Any idea??

I said maybe instead of going green like some do from remnants of deodorant or perfume she went blue.

I have no idea.

Oh my god !! sorry cant help but will be intrested to find out why that happened ???

did she stay blue/black even after showering off the initial colour guide??

Yes, the blue/blackness appeared when she was drying off after rinsing off the colour guide. She said she had to rigorously scrub it to get it off.

opps not good...has she discussed this with the manufacturer???

Just out of intrest and a long shot but did she possibly have to high a % solution applied for her skin type perhaps???

The lady said that it was only 2 week old solution and she had done 7 tans that week!

She hadthe same % solution as she always does, the lady scared her into thinking she was pregnant!!!

I would think this was something that you need to talk to the supplier about to see what they make of it

Just a thought does your friend shake the tan solution before putting it in the spray bottle. Sometimes if the bronzer sits on the top and you spray the client they look bluish almost from the bronzer ~ however you would think it would wash off.

I think Collin is right. It must be a faulty bottle. I'm sure the only base colours are red and green? No blue. To be honest I don't think shaking the bottle would be the problem...it shouldn't have gone blue xxx

Just a thought but did she wear blue clothes after? Maybe the tan was still a bit wet and the dye may have come out of her clothes!

What a very good point!! x

Yea I thought that too, but no she said she wasnt wearing blue clothes after.
The only thing I can think of (as lady said she had done 7 tans with that bottle and noone else had any problems), was that she had some residue on her skin, deodorant/perfume/body spray that had clung on even after prepping and for some reason it reacted blue instead of the usual green!!!!

Mind boggling isnt it,shes scared ro have another now-bless her.

Do Suntana sell anything that you can spray on before to dissolve anything on the skin? I know Sienna do. I would probably be inclined to spray her with it before hand next time xxx

Ahhhhh ok if she has sprayed others with the same solution and they have been fine then this sounds like it is a customer specific problem.

Blue/green with solutions is a very close colour and easily misinterpreted with the eye.
It sounds like this is a deodorant or more likely a perfume or body spray if it was all over the body.

Tell her to not be put off..explain the necessity to exfoliate and shower ensuring all residue perfumes and soaps are removed prior to the application of the spray tan....bet if she does this all will be good next time

It wasn't suntana that was used it was vani-t

Definitely something the client had on their skin,
try offering her a patch test on a large ish area (maybe her belly) to prove it will be fine next time
