hey geeks!!

When im doing my own nails - due to time restraints at home (wife / mother etc!!) plus being pregnant and not wanting to be around product for more than i need to be, iv decided to go for white tips with pink overlay. Still nice finish but they are obviously thinner than if i were to sculpt the whites. And when i try to bulk them up a bit for strength they just end up bumpy and cloudy looking!!!

AAh, any tips for better thickness? (That doesnt sound quite right but you know what i mean!

Lol, and is it just me (probly) who finds that my own nails arent as good as when you do other peoples. They just seem a bit, well....blah!! They dont last as long and just generally dont look as nice. Is this because its more difficult to do your own?

Again, any tips?!!!

Thanx in advance!!

You could try the PopIts for your own nails, they will give the correct thickness and strength and look very neat and tidy,
super quick to do too so should solve all your problems hun,
doing your own gets easier in time

ah good idea - i wasnt guna use them but no harm in using them on myself!!!!! Much easier and quicker!

Thanx!

I find I can spend hrs doing my own nails, and I am never happy. I try and still get my nails done in a salon and always wear my gloves when doing other peoples to protect my enhancements. Maybe get them done once per month and do regular maintanence yourself.

I don't like white tips myself as I think(personal opinion) it's a cheat. But as I said that;s my opinion, I always find white tips to be weaker than anyother, but don't know why??? also make sure you are still sculping in zones even with your clear or pink,,,start in zone 1 then 2 then 3,,,even with white tips,,so you have an apex xxx :)

try doing zone 1 in clear, and zones 2 & 3 in pink then if you need to go back in and build up your apex, use clear instead of pink. this will keep the tip from looking washed out or cloudy. doing your own nails takes practice, especially using your "wrong" hand lol! after a few rebalances you'll get the hang of it and they'll start looking better and lasting:) goodluck!
also, white tips arent any weaker than any other tip, thats completely in your head;)

Not sure why you feel they have to be thick. You can have a strong durable nail, even with tips, without them being thick. Building up the stress area is key IMO!

i totally agree with this- i never have problems with tips- i find they look great and more natural when they are thin and i do my own w tips and i do them thin and they are great, i also have used the PopIts on myself and have been happy with them as well- hope you have a great day!!!

There's no harm in using PopIts on anyone when you want to do a rapid service and at this time when you are pregnant they will tick all your boxes.

I agree with yeah that the 'white tip being weaker' thing is all in your head. White tips are a strong as any other colour of tip.

The strength of a nail is all in the apex placement and nothing whatever to do with adding thickness to any other area other than the apex. The free edge can be as thin as you like (and should be).

a few good points and advice there!! i especially like the idea of doing zone 1 in clear and 2 & 3 in pink to avoid looking cloudy! see ... always learning something new!!

xx
