JUst logged into e bay and they have a petition to keep it legal to sell ANYTHING on e bay any brand any product!!! Now we all know that they should not be selling products like nail liquid and powder and minx and all the fake GHDS etc!!! How can we protest the other way is there a trading standards websight or something we can voice an opinion on this as professionals I think if enough people did this maby it would make a difference!!! It would only take a few minits if we each wrote them an e mail or something protesting it the other way do you see what I mean??xx

Sorry its me again lol- and another thing YOU TUBE oh my god there are so many people on there saying im not a professional but you can buy creative nail products used in salons on ebay realy cheap!!! Im not talking about the profrssionals who demonstrate techniques but the ones who actualy have professional everything and advertise to buy it all on ebay!!! If u go on you tube you will see exactly what I mean maby e bay is the main problem becasue if they cant get it they cant use it right???? sorry to go on xxxxx

I don't really think they CAN stop it happening

Even if everyone has to show their training details etc to purchase things there are lots of instances where these products will still be sold on to non professionals.

For instance my Father had a beauty salon & was supplied by CND on the nail side- when he closed his salon he could have sold all this on Ebay to professionals/non professionals (he didnt- dont worry!)

Also say a professional trained with Cinderella hair extensions could buy in bulk 'for their salon' and then list it on Ebay- knowing both non professionals & people not trained in Cinderella will buy it..

This happens on Ebay with Biosculpture a lot! And Dermalogica..

Short of them checking who is selling & buying they can't really stop it 100%.. Also with the fake things it says 'are you attempting to sell something fake?' & obviously they say 'no'.

I suppose you could petition Ebay to get more investigators so more auctions were pulled or checked at least!

PS And yes it is annoying !

It's sad really; the whole eBay concept is spoiled by unscrupulous people out to make a quick buck. In its defence, there are quite a few honest people trading on there, and we have found it invaluable for buying items such as second hand mobility equipment, for example. So to tar all traders on eBay with the same brush would be patently unfair.

The problem isn't the valid eBayers, the petition isn't even about them. It is about eBay wanting the EU to change its IP protection laws which can prevent these rogue traders. Why should eBay care if the laws stop rogue traders? It cares because it cashes in on them and it is a huge portion of eBay sales. That is just plain wrong.

I have no problem with non IP sales or even used sales. Just the illegal ones ;)

Well it is always the unscrupulous few who spoil things for others.

The internet itself is a perfect example. Such a fantastic concept and yet how abused by what can only be described as 'pond life'.

Ebay are wrong to allow the trading of illegally bought products that are for professional use onl,y to be sold willy nilly to all and sundry. It is unsafe and undermining the businesses of those honest traders who do things right.

It will take someone dying from misusing something they shouldn't have got hold of in the first place before anyone takes any notice ... and even then ebay will get off scott free because probably no one will ever investigate from where the products were actually obtained.

it came up on my e-bay when i logged on to sign the petition needless to say i did not sign it, i love e-bay for some things but hate it for selling proffessional products! xx
