I occasionally get the odd tip and once in a blue moon I'll get a fiver but out of 4 clients over Friday and Saturday last week 3 of them gave me tips which added up to a whopping £33!!! Unbelievable; I've never had anything like that before.

So it got me wondering, was it the fabulous weather making people more generous. Or is there a new sense of optimism with this new government?

Has anyone else noticed they're getting more tips than they usually get?

The sunshine always makes people feel more positive and it does tend to loosen the purse strings. Think it gives people a bit more of that 'on holiday' feeling even if they are at home.

I see an upsurge in tips when the weather is good and have even in other industries when I worked in restaurants and hotels.

I've definitely noticed this too, I've had over £30 in a week and a half and before that I had a long drought!! I tend to find that people tip more for manicures, pedicures, eyebrows and waxing - not so much for massage. It's odd because massage is my best treatment!! But hey-ho, roll on all the summer manis, pedis and waxes, and the tips that come with them!
