As this stuff is sooooo versatile there must be more than 101 way's in which we use it both professionally within our businesses and in our homes.

Lets see if we can indeed get 101 different uses posted here.:o

It may seem somewhat of a nonsense posting however I wager there will be many useful tips given.
Already found on following Fi's blog who says its best thing for shining up natural slate hearths....now I never new that and will most certainly be using it on that from now on..thanks Fi...good tip

I thought it was flammable??????:Scared:

I dont have an open fire - I have a wood burning stove and I (well hubby) dont clean it when the fire is on LOL. The man we bought the hearth from told us that was what to use so if it was unsafe then I dont think he would be recommending it.

if you did use it while the fire was alight im guessing it would be a bit like lighting a cigarette while filling the car up with petrol :lol::lol:

Im sure its fine to use if done when the fire is out as the flammable fumes would evaporate fairly quickly

It cleans rust off metal
it unsticks locks
it makes drawers run smoother
stops mud sticking to shovels and other garden implements.

does it stop flies sticking to your teeth when you stick your head out of the window while driving back from Glasgow heading back to civilisation(as you call it) shouting at every poor bugger doing less than 100mph on the hard shoulder just cos you want to get to the jelly bean stall at Harrods before closing time

Oh and it may well make your drawers run smoother but does nowt for my "Y" fronts missus :wink2::lol::lol:

I don't stick my head put of the window! I drive an slk so I just have the roof down.
People should learn not to get in the way of a girl and her jelly beans!

Shame about your Y-fronts. Did you mean to mention them on a public forum?

We have the same type of stove and it's on natural slate too, so i'll tell my husband to try it. The slate looks quite dull, so I'm sure this would enhance it nicely.

You started by mentioning your drawers sticking:o:eek::smack:

OMG is this a public form....:o:lol::lol::hug:

will also take stickers off almost any surface without leaving a nasty residue !

My other half used it for our lock for the front door, My key wouldn't fit in the lock, so I was forever fighting with the door, a bit of WD40 and my key fits and I can now get into the house.

Maybe I should use it on him, his that tight, he squeaks when he walks.

It gets glue off most surfaces!
You can also spray it on new leather shoes! If you spray it on the back, it softens the leather and prevents blisters! It also puts a waterproof coating on your shoes
I'm wondering now if it will get wax off my towels

wow are we nearly at 101 uses already:hug:

im a bit intrigued though about the " removes hardened wax from fiberglass showers"...how would hard wax get there....unless of course there talking about ear wax that might have got washed out when showering or someone having a candle lit shower(that wouldn't work would it LOL)

mmm you haven't been using it to clean the polish off your nails have you...they look awfully as if they have somehow melted :lol::lol:

use sparingly on a bit of kitchen roll to polish stainless steel appliances - eg toasters, kettles etc - they come up luvverly!

Hmmmm... maybe some people moonlight as a waxer but havent got a beauty couch..... just stand them in the shower so the dont make a mess of the sofa, and then one day, blob of wax gets on the shower 'oh no! What shall we do now!' 'Never fear WD40 is here!!!' :D

My nails are fine. I've even changed my avatar pic so you can see they look great! Its olive oil that keeps them looking so good, although i may switch to WD40!

Do you want me to list the sports and leisure WD40 uses next?!

P.S Just incase anyone wants to sue me (or incase anyone else thinks its really me in the pic!), the nails in my avatar belong to Lee Redmond (she's the one attached to them), world record holder for the longest nails on a women, they were 33 inches long. She lost her nails in a car accident in 2009 and they are now only 4.5 inches long!

Good grief, I never knew there were so many uses for good old WD40....best put it on my shopping list for tomorrow!!!!:wink2:

I'm wondering now if it will get wax off my towels

When I read this I thought I need to try it and see if it works, I can confirm it does I had green wax on a toweling couch cover sprayed it with WD40 washed it and all the wax is now gone yehh :D. Thanks for the idea and thanks for starting the thread Collin.

I do have to confess that since seeing some of these replies...thanks peeps...I have been trying some of the recommendations.

The best one for me has been using it on my favorite old pair of leather boots to remove some floor paint off them.

Also sprayed them to see if it did improve the leather...yep it did and there so water tight I can now walk on water....im practicing to part water next...you know like someone out of the bible.

Ive got 500 cans of the stuff ready by the river bank and going to set them all off at once to see if that does the trick:eek::lol:

I also received a call from the chairman of British Airway's last night at midnight who was rather desperately trying to find a supply of 50,000 cans of the stuff after reading this thread.

Apparently they feel it could get the planes flying again by lubricating the engines so the ash passes through them easier...of course the added bonus to them is a reduction in aviation fuel used to get all those Britt's stranded abroad home cos the WD40 when it ignites acts as a kind of turbo charge booster.

Amazing the various uses this stuff has :lol::hug:
