Hey everyone

Finished training with NSI end of november and currently working from home until i get my confidence up and time down, these took roughly 1hr and 40mins and i was quite pleased with the overall finished product.

White tip and NSI totally clear

Question is, am i ready to venture out into the big bad world yet? would you be happy with these?

Personally id of had the white slightly shorter but its what the client requested!

hi, they look lovely. i would have the whites shorter but thats what she asked for. the question you have to ask yourself is would you pay for them if a pro did them for you. looking at your picture, i would have no problem paying for them. i think your ready for the nail world. be confident. They look good. Are they lasting at least the two weeks?? if they are you should have no problems.:)

yeh there easy lasting the 2 weeks, i haven have a couple of ladies whos last 3-4 weeks before needing anything done to them so i thnk i'm almost ready!

Most of your learning and experience will be gained 'on the job' and working 'with' your clients so just do it and get going.

I personally do not like the harsh fake look of those white tips, and prefer the look and the choice to offer clients of different powders to achieve different looks and to truly enhance the look of the nails rather than give everyone the same, SORRY, but Porn Star look. Using these harsh-looking white tips also makes the ends of the nails look out of proportion to the pink and wider than they should be.

Your shaping needs work (one side of the free edge is rounded while the other is square) which is a common fault and can be corrected by holding and using the file correctly. You are swinging to the right as you file the left side of the nail which is rounding the corner off and you need to stop doing that by very deliberately holding the file straight and parallel up and down the side wall as you are doing on the right hand side of the nail. HTH

Overall, you are competent to get out there and get going because you need the experience of different looks and different types of nails and you can only get that with a large variety of clients with different needs ... it will make you expand your repertoire and push you to the next level.

I would like to add; make the bed of the nail a bit longer with an Opaque powder. It would have worked better with the tip lenghth I think. I have short nail beds as well and have to make them longer to not have stubby nails. Now I am not talking where you take the nail bed WAY past the tip of the finger. I think that loooks just ODD. Rather take the nail bed all the way to the end of the finger. :)

I agree with Sachi. The nail beds seem a little short. When you are working with Clear Powders, you don't really have a choice on where to start the free edge. (I'm guessing you placed the tip fairly close to the natural free edge.) Extending the nail plate with an opaque powder can look very lovely for those not born with hand model nail beds!
