I was curious as I am a die hard CND user I trained with them only last year and am currently on the masters route with julia moran in leigh. I do predominantly free form sculpt but do use tips as and when needed, I live breathe and dream nails, I am so passionate about nail care and am fascinated especialy about the chemistry of natural nails and artifical, as I believe if you know everything about your products and how they work you will overcome problems easier.

My question is how many of you use only one brand completly and have faith in all there products? I can honestly say I trust cnd completley, I have tried a few other systems but found nothing compares to cnd. I have trolley file case uniform and use all products and all my clients old and new always comment how proffesional I look and how much they trust me as I know what I'm talking about. I have many time got on the phone to my educator Julia infront of client and asked questions, I have so much faith in this brand and it is paying off in my clients having faith in me, How many geeks out there have 100% faith in the brand the use or compant they trained with? xx

I DO:D I am also a Creative babe all the way, even down to my files. I also tried different systems first, however once I discovered CND there was no turning back, but as it has been said to me "the cream always rises to the top". After reading Doug Schoon´s book, and he explains about service breakdown etc, I cannot understand why anybody would wish to mix brands. Although I did at the very begining use another brush (because I kept ruining my CND ones):o but went back to CND and resolved problems I had with my mix ratio! Imho their training is the very best and so are their products, so why would I want to mix things up? They invest greatly in developing new products and finding out what the technician wants and consistantly deliver.

What are you going to do if your favourite brand doesn't provide something you really need to use? Like; silk and wrap system...

I think in case of trolley, uniform and misc. things. Isn't that ok for using another brand as CND doesn't supply every product and has supplier from outsider too such as disinfectant and sanitising product.

TBH, I think it depends on situation...

This is very much down to personal taste and what you want to do with your client's nails. I don't think every brand produces every product that every tech would ever need so it is generally a matter of having a main brand for the majority of your stuff and then supplement it with other bits and pieces. Nothing wrong with sticking to the same brand though and only doing what you can with that. Matter of choice! ;)

Hello I am CND too. I use all their products, however i do have some NSI technail colours, I NEVER mix brands together so i would never use say CND liquid and NSI powder/primer etc. I explain this to the clients who want say colourd tips, which is a rarity anyway as most of my clients want pink and white. There is nothing wrong with trying different products out in my opinion as long as you dont experiment on paying cleints who are used to and trusting of the brand. If I was ever to change brands which i dont see happening I would have to train and change everything, very costly and also could be a big mistake. I may try sample kits etc on myself or a friend though but not on my cleints xxxxx

Currently using NSI but I would use a different brand for mani's and pedi's as they sell sparitual on qvc. But apart from that, faith!

I mix products often. There are just somethings I like about each one of them that may work for each particular client. I haven't had an issue yet, but it is possible.

AHH yes you are right but wrong also, imho, I am a trying to portray an image to my costumers as proffesional an I have the uniform the trolley the file case all my products CND,, and I know what im talking about, and if I dont I know a girl who does (my educator) it portrays confidence and proffesionalism to your clients I think if you are 100 % true to a brand,,, the only thing a dont use which is from cnd is brush as I like a flat brush but they onlt do round,,,,,, but hey hooo its all in the chemistry. x

I'm mixing the product... but I do like other system so I think, I'll choose the best that suit my client's need.

BTW I use 508 with my CND system but separated each brush for each monomer.

I agree with the above. I think it's good to keep an open mind about product ranges, although I'm obviously not talking one brand's liquid with another's powders. It's great if you can get absolutely everything you want from one range, although it 'Could' lead to limitations on what you can do for people. It's good to be able to offer stunning colours/glitters to those who want it, but not every supplier offers it, for instance.

I like a certain brand of clothing, but it doesn't mean I won't look elsewhere for something different now and again. I also like certain styles of music, types of food and literary genres, but a bit of mixing, matching, open mindedness and variety can keep things interesting in most spheres of life, imo. :D

I use the Edge, I think their product is fantastic, I was sent a CND catalogue and I feel that their stuff was so over priced, the Edge is a fab product, all my clients love it, Gel / Acrylic. It is so strong and long lasting! Would recommend it to anyone.

I dont think using all of one product makes us any more or less professional than someone that mixes and matches.Portraying a professional image can be achieved just as well by using all of the same brand as one using several products. Its the end result that matters.

Most clients wont even notice half of the products you are using.I think it looks nice/professional to have all of the same products but it isn't something that would make a client think any less of the therapist/nail tech. It's all about the service and end result.

I use CND,OPI and Nailtiques.I like the fact I can pop to my local wholesalers for certain items if needed. Also some products by certain distributers i.e nail files and tips are extortionate and I have bought just as good from other suppliers from the shows etc at a much more cost effective price.

I wouldn't mix my liquid and powders etc for obvious reasons but I see nothing wrong with mixing and matching at all as long as your prducts are good quality, professional products.:D

I do think certain treatments i.e facials have to have the complete range used because they are designed to work with each other, but things like polishes, nail tips, files, uniform, nail trolley are fine to mix brands.

ps I dont think having a mix in products makes anyone seem less confident at all.JMO

katiebbaby, did you know you can train the #8 CND brush to work flat?

I learned the hard way that every piece of the puzzle is important and have used all one brand since the lightbulb went off lol. I use them as a complete system for optimum results and noticed a drastic improvement in the work I did when i started doing so, many moons ago.

I agree with this. I use one line for all my l&p products including prep products (although i use the mundo's hand gel). But I am happy to try new things and i will try them from any good quality brand, not just my usual supplier.

I think you're customers are more likely to see you as a professional because you wear a uniform (plenty dont seem to) and because you have put your effort into learning all you can about the services you provide. Most of my clients would struggle to tell you any process of what i do because they dont pay much attention, they do often comment if they see one of my pretty NFU.oh bottles though. :D
