Hello peeps

i am really stuck, i am planning to go abroad to turkey for our well earned hoilday but there are so many places in turkey i am unsure on where to go!

we like to chill out alot by the pool or on the beach, and love evening entertainment whether it may be cheesy hotel caberet or a lively bar/ clubs
we also like a few resturants and a little nit of history and sites.

if anyone has been could you tell me where abouts and what it was like.

i cant wait ha ha

thanks;)

we stayed in marmaris and it was fantastic.

hotel was amzing, trips that were organised were fab, shopping was brill, food excellent!

i would recommend there - best family holiday i have ever been on.

hi
there are many many resorts,
kusadasi is large, great historical places like ephesus is about 15 min away
marmaris is great, large, commercial though with some quieter surrounding parts, very clean
altinkum - temple of artemis there, nice beaches
olu deniz and fetiye-further down on the med, aparently they are the nicest places to go to for pretty beaches and sand etc and they will be less developed than further up the agean coast..

hope this helps, i have some turkish forum sites if u want to pm me

cheers michelle

its just me and my partner!

is there any sandy beaches in marmaris, it sounds great, thank you very much for your help!

we went to Marmaris in 2000, fantastic holiday... plenty to do if you want it but also quieter parts if you don't like the hustle and bustle. we stayed in the Julian ApartHotel, it was some time ago though, but when we were there it was fab.

the beach is'nt sandy but not far is icmeler its a bus ride away bout 10 mins we stayed in between and walked it the beach there is gorgeous really sandy and they do all watersports boat trips snorkeling etc we spent a lot of time on the beach there marmais is busy in the centre loads of shopping gold shops are fab on the outskirts quieter thats where we usually stay turquise appartments are great we are staying at the golden moon never stopped there before but i havent any worries the standard is A1 theres tons to do and the nightlife is great if you go go on a boat trip we went all day meal on the boat beer n juice all day everything included tenner each kids went free

Bodrum doesn't have a beach but it is very lively at night

Bitez 10 minutes away is very quiet and relaxing

Gumbet also 10 mins from Bodrum has a shingly beach and major nightlife (can find a good few lager louts there)

Bitez is my favourite place to escape to but I love Bodrum for the buzz and shopping

Olu Deniz has a great beach but nothing much apart from that (10 years since I have been tho, it's a conservation area so I doubt it will have changed much)

Fethiye is about 20 minutes from Olu Deniz, very nice but not much nightlife

HTH

Turkey and Croatia are my favourite places to go on holiday wherever you decide I am sure you will love it

I go to Rovinj on the Istrian Riviera

Very Italian not much for kids to do except play in the pool and watersports, but if my 2 have a pool they are happy

Absolutely no lager louts most guests are Italian, Russian, dutch or German so very few guests speak English (they speak far more of my language than i do of thiers tho to my very great shame)

that sounds fab my 2 love the pool gona take a luck big bonus not havin lager louts we went to benidorm for a last min hol 2 years ago didnt like it we make the most of any holiday but we wouldnt go back went to prague last year loved it kids did 2 caught some hockey matches aswell will be checkin croatia out

I cam back from Turkey three weeks ago and had a fab timeI would definately recommend Altinkum where we stayed my mum and dad have a place there and go out twice a year the beach is only a ten minute walk and lovely pools, temple of Apollo ( Built 535BC and still standing, well partly!) Lake Bafa is beautiful (about an hour away) Boat trips, cheap as chips (£5 per person for the whole day including lunch!!!) loads of other stuff including water parks, lovely restaurants and lively clubs if thats your scene to, something for everyone, hope you have fun!!!

I got back fron Alanya (Turkey) yesterday!
It was very hot and although I got eaten alive buy the insects I had a lovley relaxing time. I wouldn't rush back tho.
I have been to Bodrum twice and I would highly rerccomend it!
It has something for everyone! Lots of trips available & you can visit Kos for the day too. Not too commercialised. A lovely place
Holpe this helps & I hope you enjoy your holiday where ever you choose to spend it!
:D
