hello everyone i am new to the site,i have a couple of questions about waxing i have recently attended a course but am finding i am still having a couple of issues,i find stretching the skin a little difficult,i dont seem to get much stretch and find that i press down making it uncomftable for the person having the wax,i also find that sometimes when i put my hand on the waxed area to stop the sting my hand gets stuck because there is left over wax, i waxed my husbands eyebrows today i dont know how it happened but i lost my grip when i was pulling off the strip when i pulled it off i had taken the hair i wanted to remove off but left him with a bald patch in the middle of his brow any ideas and tips would be great

You need to stretch the skin and not their organs......that's why it hurts.

You may be putting too much wax on if you're leaving some on there.

I never normally say this but it sounds as though you need to get more training or practise as much as you can.xxx

Hi Welcome to the site..

Im sorry to here about your hubbys eyebrow but it made me laugh :wink2:...

Hope he didn't get too angry with you.. As Kim said the more you do the better it gets and the more comfortable you will be... Good Luck xx:):)

Maybe you're trying to wax too large an area at a time if you can't get a good stretch. I would stretch by putting my index finger and middle finger either side of the area pulling the brow slightly upwards. Also use a fresh wax strip each time if you are using strip wax so that you don't accidentally put a strip with wax on the hairs you want to keep. Keep the strip wax thin so you don't squish extra wax upwards onto the brows you want to keep. You could try covering the hairs you want to leave with Vaseline to protect them for now while you are practicing! you could try pressing after with a different part of your hand that is less likely to be waxy! It only takes one bad brow wax to be more cautious next time so don't worry too much! Your husband was very kind to let you try on him!

You could try and put a little lash tint in his bald patch, it wont last long but maybe his mates wont take the mickey!!! Keep practising, you'll do it eventually x

I couldn't have put it better. Very good advice from Weezie.
And in the meantime lend him your eyebrow pencil until it grows back. And I'm sorry but yes, like someone else said, your post made me laugh!

But every cloud has a silver lining, and this has probably been a good learning experience for you - you'll be sure never to do this to anyone else again, especially not a paying client! We all learn from our mistakes.
