Hi

I have started to podge up since my last baby 6 months ago! I used to be a size 8 until I had my first baby where I went up to a size 12. after my second baby I went back to a ten and then levelled back up to a 12.

Now I am a 14, but not a nice 14.My bum and belly are really big and its depressing me. I thought by now I would be back to normal but i'm not.

All three babies were C-Sections so I have had heaps of trauma to my tummy, and I carried my son (last baby) really low which damaged by pelvis.

I know diet and exercise are the recomended advice, but I dont have the energy or the time for full on exercise at the minute, what with having three kids and a business and house to run!

I have took green tea capsules before which helped so will take them again as with drinking 4 litres of water a day (which I know to drink slowly so as to not water log the brain and kill myself!).

I am not a big eater. I only eat twice a day and its not too unhealthy. I only eat take out once a week!

So would love to hear anyones opinions on what to do to help lose my bum and tum! I know theres no miracle cure without getting to the gym but any advice would cheer me up!

Thanks

Kate

I was a size 8 pre-baby and now I'm also not a very nice 14 but my baby was born a lot longer than 6 months ago  If I find a cure that doesn't involve heaps of exercise, I will share it, but reading your thread, a thought sprang to mind - are you skipping breakfast?

Apparently breakfast is really important as it kick starts your metabolism. Typically, what do you eat for lunch and dinner?

Well I don't know if this helps and my weight gain did go up with my last child and like you a lost it again, but unfortunately I put my weight on because of comfort eating - so I have no excuse. By coincidence I went to see a doctor with my son and got on to discussing feeling tired all the time and eating just to get energy (which never works) and he said do three simple things cut out processed food high in sugar, don't eat food with sugar and yeast. Not the anti candida diet as he said it is essential to eat fruit and a balanced diet. So I make my own bread by buying the Scofa mix from Sainsburys, no yeast, and the kids eat it and try cooking from scratch. It works out cheeper and when you get use to it is not so bad. It takes a while at first to adjust to but soon becomes easier and I have broken it a couple of times, I'd say 3 or 4 in the last 6 months but I feel much better and have gone down 3 dress sized so far and it is really just healthy eating not a diet. I asked a physio about stomach exercises and she said anything pilates is good if you have had a baby regardless of how long ago. New world music on line have a pilates dvd and I think it is reduced at the mo. Good luck x

Yes sometimes I do skip brekkie as I am never hungry. I have to physically force myself to eat as I dont feel hungry. I know its worse to not eat so I do what I can. I don't eat really healthily but I don't like chocolate, biscuits or cake so its not like I snack!

Saying that I am addicted to haribo at the minute which dosnt help lol! Damn Kids!

I used to do Salsa dancing and need to go back to it really cause its fun and burns heaps of cals! I hate the gym!

My mum has allergies to food and shes lost loads of weight from cutting out yeast etc so may go for an allergy test too (and yes now you mention it I have zilch energy!).

So allergy test, breakfast and dancing. This is my new years resolution that I am starting now!

Thanks for your advice

Also put the kids in their pushchairs and get out in the fresh air for a goodl old fashioned walk, good for mum and baby!! I also recommend taking care of your mind as much as your diet (goodness I didnt mean that to sound like I thought you were insane or anything!! Apologies if that came out wrong!!) positivity breeds positivity, and if your feeling really down cos of your weight it can have a negative effect, I yoyo between a 14 and an 18, and the only way I ever lose weight is to eat less and move more...!! Lol

I love haribo too. I used to eat them by the massive bag (about 700 calories!). I thought haribo were ok cuz they have no fat, i forgot all that sugar turns into fat lmao. :smack:

dont forget if you dont eat enough you wont burn the calories. i have read about food that also contain minus calories, ie,your body burns more calories metabolising the food than the food actually contains. it was in one of my monthly mags, cant remember which though. glamour maybe.

mmmm I am so addicted to the big bags of strawberry ones. I bought 1 kilo of them for the kids advent calenders but they kinda got all eaten before the 1st dec (may explain a few extra pounds lol)!!

They should be BANNED!!!

Hi all i too put on weight when i had my third child and i found that it was and is really hard to lose the weight. But I did find that green tea help and I got some yogalataes dvd and i did half hour every night and sometimes an hour and that really helped pull my stomach in. See i found it hard to do sit ups as it seemed to hurt my neck and tbh i saw more results with the dvds, I did in the end join weight watchers and so far I have lost a stone but it has taken me nearly 6 months to lose .I stil exercise everyday as my partner found this channel on sky called body in balence and it has loads of programs all throught the day yoga , step arobics, plataes yoga for pregant ladies, and many more . now twice a day i do what is called the carribean workout and it is only half an hour but its fun and i can do it my own home and does not cost an arm and a leg in joining fees. I am still losing weight but i also eat well, but if i want something i have it and dont feel bad as life is for living not for dieting (well thats what i tell myself lol).

You know what, dont worry yourself about it. I find that the more concerned I get about my size or weight the more weight seems to pile on.

I have found that hot water is good for reducing bloating, so if I have a special dress I want to look good in, I drink plenty of this the day before and in the morning of the day I want to wear the dress. Works for me. :green:

Last year, in January - like the rest of the nation probably - I decided to make more of an effort to exercise and eat better, and hopefully lose a pound of three in the process.
I bought Davina, 2dvd set - power of three its called - which was really fun, and very inspirational. I started by just once a week, and worked up, over a couple of months to three times a week. I found once I was fitter I had much more energy, started to tone up nicely, and even my husband noticed my mood lift (now that something!! esp at certain times of the month).

I know you said exercise is not top priority but even as someone mentioned, a good walk with the buggy is a great way to start.
A good steady mile walk is as good and burns off as many calories as a mile jog!!!

I wouldnt worry about it until all the festivities are over and let yourself relax and enjoy yourself this month, and make January the beginning of feeling and looking better!!!:green:

Hi

I was wondering what you eat because apart from chocolate, biscuits and cake, which you don't like, there are plenty of high calorie, high fat savoury foods. So I was thinking, if you eat a cheese sandwich you could switch it for a chicken sandwich, and if you have mayo you could switch it for a low fat dressing, and if you have butter you could switch it for a low fat spread etc etc

I am not going to pretend to be an expert because I've got a size 8 frame covered in a 3 dress sizes of flab duvet, but I do know where I go wrong as I love butter and cheese, and crisps, and I do chocolate in quite a big way, and I eat out a lot. It may be that you have a weakness, a 'trigger food' that you need to avoid. (Crisps are a trigger food for me, I can't seem to eat one bag, it always ends up being 4.)

Going to weight watchers made me realise that if you want to lose weight you do need to cut out fat. Sadly

I personally would stop buying Haribo for the kids because if they' re not in the house, you can't eat them. I started buying my daughter Sunbites and some other baked thing she likes, which don't do it for me in the way crisps do, so even if I eat a bag, I don't feel the need to go back for more.

Good luck, let us know how you get on and what works for you

Hi I have had three kids one is 18yrs old and my boy is 2yrs past in Aug and my daughter is one past on halloween. I ahve always been between 8 & 10 before I had my last two kids. now im between a 6 & 8. I never eat before 11am. I normally eat one meal a day and one takeaway a wk. Sea Kelp tablets from holland and barratt will speed up ur metabolism and a hoola hoop will help the tummy muscles and sides.. Good luck x
