Happy New Year Everyone!

As there are quite a few Scottish & Irish geeks on here I thought you may be able to help me out.

I'm off to a posh do later in the month which is being held in a castle. The dress code & theme for the night is Celtic. I have no idea what to wear, some suggestions please :)

Thank you x

Isn't this type of thing so much easier for a man! They can just hire a kilt.

So...if there is any kilt hire shops in your area, start there. They often have tartan/celtic dresses for hire.

Another good place is wedding shops, they often have tartan bridesmaid dresses for themed weddings, you can get some lovely ones that don't necessarily look like bridesmaid dresses!

If I was as slim as when I got married (I wish ) I could wear my wedding dress bodice. It's royal blue velvet with a pattern embroidered on it. I've just had a look & it could pass for a celtic pattern.

Thanks for the ideas so far x

Great idea here from Lisa, another idea is if your were wearing a single colour dress to get a tartan plaid/sash to wear over your sholder iykwim

Ooh, I like this idea as well :).

I do have a gorgeous dress I bought from Monsoon a few weeks ago which is a tealy blue with some embroidery along the neckline & hemline. (Not quite a celtic pattern though :irked:).
