After a soak off what treatment do you use on your clints nails? Also im doing a day manicure and pedicure course next month and when i booked they told me I could purchase a kit on the day which is The Edge products, I have read so many bad reviews on these products I am thinking of buying an alternative kit (the women said I could use my own if I wanted) but I am not sure what the kit includes and what would be the best alternative, if anyone has any suggestions I would be greatful. Thanks

Hi, I would think you would need the following :-
Nail Clippers
Nail Scissors
Hoof Stick or double ended pusher/scraper
Files assorted
Lint Free Pads
Sanitising Spray
Soaking manicure bowls
Soaking manicure gel or similar
Cuticle Remover, Cuticle Massage Cream, Nail Buffing Cream, Cuticle Oil
Cuticle Knife
Cuticle Trimmers
Base Coat, Polish, Top Coat
Acetone
Good Hand Cream/Foot Cream
Light massage oil to do hand and arm massage (can also be used in soak) REMEMBER CHECK FOR NUT ALLERGIES!
Orange Sticks
Spatula to remove products from containers
Cotton wool to dress the orange sticks

Pedicure - All the above plus a rasp for hard skin, foot spray, foot soak, exfoliating rub.

A couple of hand towels/couch roll

I personally do not use Edge products. LCN or Ezflow are very good, but just buy the best you can for now and update after you have learnt. Invest in your tools ie scissors/cuticle nippers as they will last you. I teach these courses and would expect my students to have these items. Anyway hope this helps you and good luck !

CND do great mani and pedi kits and they include a DVD which will explain the prodcucts and how to use them. They are lush and very affordable with a great return on your investment in them. www.sweetsquared.com or ring 08452106060

Check out Almond Spa Manicure and Citrus Spa Manicure and the Marine Spa Pedicure and the Raw Earth Pedicure products.

On the rare times that i soak off a set of nails i give a mini manicure with creatives products, hth

After soaking off (if no enhancements are going back on) I perform a mini or luxury manicure. My key products - that I also retail to my client are the following:
CND toughen up
Solar Oil -- these are in a pre-made pack
240g file

Super Shiney Topcoat.
HTH:)

Thanks for all the info ladies really greatful. I had a look at sweet squared but I couldn't find how to register on the site, do you have to be qualified to join and buy the products. Thanks

Give Sweet Squared a call on 08452106060 and they will set you up with a customer number so you can register on the site.

S2 only sell to professionals so the site is very secure and you will need to send a copy by fax or scan of your certificate of competence or explain that you are doing a course and need the products for that.

They are lovely and helpful at S2 and you'll be very glad you went to the effort to get on their list believe me.

I use solar oil after a removal and almond manicure products.

The Edge products are basic but the rest of your class will have these kits so I suggest you get one also. The kits is cheap so you wont be wasting your money and you can practice on friends and family until they run out. In this way you will be learning eactly the same way as your peers and wont have queries over if what you have is the same.

I find it hardest to teach a class if 1 or 2 have different kits. I also think that CND are more than just a 'scrub' or 'mask' and that you should do the spa mani/pedi class after your course as they give you excellent product knowledge that will help you give a more luxurious and profitable manicure.

Enjoy learning about both - its is always good to know the difference between basic and deluxe manicure/pedicure products.

Just to let you know I rang sweet squared and they said I couldnt have a customer number until after I have completed my course, I'm a bit gutted but never mind I will have to wait a few weeks before I can order. Thanks anyway for the info.
