my husband has book me and my sisters into a spa on Monday and we are booked in for a mini pedicure. I have had these treatments before but when i read on there website about it i thought they missed some information out so i rung them about it. I asked what it entails she said shape and polish thats all. i told her i wasn't paying £20 each for this as i personally think this shouldn't be call a pedicure as no treatment is done to the foot or the nail just file and paint. Can i ask what your treatments are for a mini pedicure.

£20 is about right in a spa for a mini pedicure, for a full pedicure in a spa you're usually looking at around £50.
you can't compare a salon pedicure to a spa because the spa's usually charge a lot more.Remember you get to use all the facilities and that's why they are usually more expensive.
Unfortunately it's the same with all treatments in a spa, they always charge extortionate prices. It goes with the territory.
All I can say is enjoy your treat from your hubby, take advantage of the spa's facilities because these will all be free and tell yourself at least you're not paying for the mini pedicure.HTH

ps I dont call mine a mini pedi, its called a shape and paint,I cut tonails, file them and then polish.Sometimes a tiny bit of cuticle work is carried out if really necessary but it's done very quickly.

To answer your question my minipedicure includes just a basic prep, and no polish, they have to pay extra for that (my minipedicure would be around gbp 10 -12 I guess)

Im afraid its standard practice in spas to call a file and polish a mini pedi/mani. I always avoid these treatments on spa days and opt for a back massage or facial instead as I know from when I worked in spas that a mini ped is usually a 20 - 30min F+P

I agree with babs £20 is about the average price for a file and polish in a spa. Don't forget most spas work out the treatment prices to reflect the time they are taking. For example a 1hr facial is £60 and a 15min eyebrow wax is £15 so basically a £1 per minute although i sure this varies up and down the country.

I personally don't offer a mini pedicure as I feel there are to many things that are necessary in the treatment to shorten it. I offer either a file and polish or full pedicure.

Normally I cut (if needed) file, push back cuticles, small massage and polish. This is a mini pedicure in my opinion. HTH
