What is the point of Vinylux?

just wanted to add how many times have we as technicians done something really eyecatching on our own nails to grab potential clients attention when we are out and about but then maybe want to change the colour just for the weekend?? I know i do it alot. I have bright colours and things that will get clients trying new things as well as drawing in new clients when i pop to the shop etc but then maybe ill be going to dinner with hubby and want something a little more sedate....vinylux is the answer, i can paint them quickly for dinner date without having to find the time to soak off my shellac/enhancements

Hi, I just wanted to add my scenario as to why I'm so excited for vinylux! At current I work in a supermarket (I do not have a salon job or work for myself yet as I am only level 2 qualified, working towards my level 3) working here means I am allowed absolutely no colour on my nails :(

I am qualified to use ibd justgel which is ideal if I have a week or so off from work but for anything less than that it just becomes impractical for me to apply and soak off within a day or two or just for weekend wear.

Regular polish just does not go the distance for me, I know some ladies can get their manicure to last beautifully, but I am unfortunately not one of those lucky few and my polish chips within the day I have applied no matter what I do to try and prevent it!

Vinylux looks to be the inbetween ground I have been looking for - not lasting as long as a 2 week gel polish manicure but having the ease of a regular polish removal but with more longevity - and drying within 8 and a half minutes? That's just the cherry on top! X

I did wonder if I needed to invest in vinylux too at first, but having gathered as much info as possible and just trusting in CND ( if they think I need it I probably do !) I placed a large order. I have been telling all my clients about it over the last two days and already I have bookings just by clients saying it was just what their mum/ friend needs due to lifestyle and work. New clients and my order hasn't even arrived yet...woohoo :)

Are you going to be retailing it or just using it as a service?

I paint over my Gelish with std polish and remove all the time. Out of interest can you not paint over Shellac with ordinary polish? I do like the sound of Vinylux as a longer wear with no soak off will definitely suit some of my ladies.

Why have a product like Vinylux? Because clients want it.

Shellac, Gelish and alike are all amazing products. BUT they cost an average £20 - 25 a treatment, so you are looking at £40 - £50 a month on nail colours. £600 a year ... not everyone wants to or can afford that luxury. Two Shellac treatments in a month would give them a top coat and four Vinylux colours to use that will last a lot longer then a month.

But you lose masses in profit.

I've not decided yet if I will buy Vinylux, I use such a small amount of regular polish these days.

How much are you all going to charge for a manicure with Vinylux? Is it going to be much less than a Shellac/Gelish manicure? Surely the client will want to spend half the amount of money if they are going to get half the amount of wear??? How long will it take you compared to a Shellac/Gelish manicure? How will it impact on your profit?

High Street salons may well be able to retail the product to passing trade, but I'm not sure I would retail that much to clients visiting my home salon. I retail loads of Solar Oil and creams etc. and retail is a big part of my business, but I hardly retail any polish now.

I don't fully understand why people are excited about applying it to enhancements. The only advantage there would appear to be is drying time as regular polish lasts for ages on enhancements anyway.

As I said, I haven't decided yet. If my clients start asking, or if I get phone calls asking, I will probably order it.

I just discovered THE reason for Vinylux (at least for me). PEDICURES!

I painted one of my toes with Tutti Frutti Vinylux, let it dry then dug my fingernail into it. Guess what? NO marks. To me, that is AHH-MAZING!

Personally, I've not been a fan of Shellac on toes but love it on fingernails. Now clients can have matching tootsies to their Shellac'd nails. And, it's much easier to remove.

I love Vinylux. CND, you have done it, again! :D

You can't ignore the FACTS. ... And the fact is that 90% of women still buy polish even though it takes a long time to dry, needs both a base and top coat and is not easy to apply. With VINYLUX they have less to buy, faster drying time and longer wear time.

If they come to me to buy it I am happy .. I am making more money without having to necessarily do the work. I can also offer a longer lasting manicure with VINYLUX that won't disappoint clients by wearing and chipping (as long as I choose the suitable clients for this polish).

VINYLUX works best for ladies with good strong healthy natural nails; these are generally the ones who want a manicure. For the others we have Shellac, or Shellac with Smoothing gel, or Brisa Lite Sculpting gel .... All the solutions for every type of nail condition.

Just remembered, hubby bought me a bottle of Chanel polish a couple of months ago which was about £18 for a smaller bottle than Vinylux! So, £19.90 for a Vinylux top coat and colour that dries uber quick, doesn't chip/peel and lasts 7 days+ is an absolute bargain! :D

There are several advantages to applying VINYLUX to enhancements .... One it is quicker, 2 the client can change the colour, 3 I won't have to buff the colour off when the client returns for maintenance, 4 I will sell the client a VINYLUX colour and TOP Coat on top of her service. If I thought about it a little bit more I could think of more :)

One thing is for certain, when women hear about VINYLUX they are going to want to buy it ... They can only do so from a professional salon or technician and that means YOU ... They will find you on the salon locator at lovecnd.com and that web address will go out in consumer magazines very shortly. You are not going to ever sell something big if you do not have it available.

I am an early adopter when it makes sense and I can see the potential ... Others have to wait and see what everyone else does first ... Both ways are valid but with CND I never wait and follow the other guys ... We are in there first and our clients love us for it ... Always a buzz!

I was beginning to think I was the only person who can't do with soaking Shellac off toes. Varnish stays on toes brilliantly, so Vinylux will be even better. I won't be charging huge amounts less for Vinylux than Shellac, it's just another option. A lot of you on here specialise in nails, and seem not to stock regular varnish. I have a lot of clients who want a regular mani with varnish that they can buy, reapply, remove easily. I'm away this weekend, and the thought of having Shellac is great, but it's a faff to remove after just a few days (I never work with painted nails) so have just applied Vinylux Fedora to fingers which will match my Fedora Shellac toes that has been on for about 3 years lol!!!

My clients absolutely love luxury pedicures especially with micro plane but they love shellac as well. Sometime they cant afford a shellac pedicure, BANG here comes vinylux.

Best of all worlds, shellac fingers, luxury pedicure, with vinylux to match their shellac.

Nail heaven ladies pure nail heaven :D xx

I hate soaking off shellac on toes and my clients tend to want to match! Which means if they have a mani & pedi every 2-3 weeks, the colour on their toes could last a lot longer with Shellac. I will now use vinylux on toes! Easy to remove, matching colours, long lasting, shiny... I personally can't see any downside!

Xxx

I also personally love everything to match. Maybe Im wrong but I think it looks more professional. But then Im OCD about things like that.

Oh my god vinylux will be here within the hour, gotta have a pee incase I miss the courier. :D xxx

Part of the point I was trying to make is that there are a lot of us who have clients who can't afford regular Shellac. So you make no profit. But they could afford to pop in and treat themselves to a bottle of Vinylux. And while not the same margin as Shellac clearly, four or five retail purchases of just Vinulyx puts you in the same profit margin - without using any of your time.

So it is actually going to help us make more money.

Hey Juicy long time no speak!

I'm actually getting on with it quite well which is amazing because I'm naff at applying regular nail polish, also the price is really good.

I was never going to bring in a regular polish manicure but I think i will give it a go. I'm gonna buy about 10 colours and advertise it as the 7 day chip free manicure etc.

Because i don't have a client base to speak of I don't know whether this will take off but I'm gonna give it a go I've got nothing to lose really. xx

Just fresh out of qualifying and have been sourcing gels systems for some time. Personally, I find them a bit of a faff and dislike the time it takes. (I know others love Shellac) etc. This is just my opinion. Vinylux has arrived at a very convenient time for us. Love the sound of it. Will still offer OPI polish so we have a choice. Just hope I'm quick enough with applying, as still consider myself a trainee, lol.

Allows us a system that works well with Mani/Pedi and dries super quick. We offer more than just nails here so it fits in with the rest of our business.

We can offer this system in between colours taking or even offer a file and polish in a lunchtime.

There are plenty of salons, mobile and home business that offer Shellac, Gelish etc in our area. Those clients who prefer this system will still be able to do so.

We have clients who work in the health service, carers or in work places where they cannot where polish. This is such a happy "in-between" service where it can easily be removed at home and will be cost effective for many for our clients who do not want more than a weeks worth of colour.

We were putting together a mani/pedi promotion in our local advertiser and guess what, we managed to get it amended so it went to press advertising Vinylux, doing well so far!

Just can't wait for it to arrive, finished ordering at 1 am on 1st May and hope it will arrive by tomorrow! Still pending even though I ordered the 1-2 days delivery, can't wait.

This is an excellent stepping stone for me personally :)

Plus I can retail, retail, retail.

Re Profit

I think if you work out the service cost, time taken and removal factor for Shellac, and compare it with the same for Vinylux you may find that Vinylux is just as profitable 'per hour' of appointments if not more....

Obviously this depends on what you charge for both services...

x

I work from home and do mobile I have sold 5 bottles already for my shellac customers when on holiday to touch up xxx
