It's just carved in with a dotting tool.

Got a great tip from Nataliya when carving designs to wait a minute before carving as the shellac 'thickens' slightly. I was having trouble with the design disappearing before I had chance to finish it previously.

My ring and thumb are done with a striping brush and Blackpool
