Hiya peeps, I really want to go and get some more training but not sure what to do next. Ive done my foundation L&p with creative and getting better slowly but surely. Im having a dilemma about wether to do an airbrushing course, nail art course or gel with creative( which im sure you have to wait a while before doing)? Thing is whatever I do 1st will have to be something that will increase my income a little in order to pay for the rest lol! Any thoughts? xx

Hay hun,

why dont u have a look at the nail art pics on here or just on the internet and have a play and experiment and see if u can do something similar!!
With you just starting out you dont want to be spending loads until you have made some money first.
I have never been on a nail art course ( im sure they are very good and give u loads of tips etc) and i can do little raised acrylic flowers, use glitter with my acrylis and gems on the tips and i even had a go (on me of course) with my CND perfect colour shimmer set and managed to do really cool leopard desitn overlays (did take me forever tho lol) that looked fab!

I cant really comment on airbrushin because i have never done it and after i completed my CND l&p Foundation i waited and saved then did my gel!

IMO i would see how you go with acrylic, save some money then do the Brisa course and like i have said above, just play around with the art side!!

HTH :green: xx

I would def, go for the gel course hun, nail art is great and I am truly hooked on it, but I haven't had any courses, there are so many sites you can log onto with step by steps you don't really need a course, unless you are going to go the advanced level.
You can always do a airbrush course after the gel course if there is a calling for it where you are..hth...xxx

Thats what I thought youd say lol! Im really arty anyway so maybe a nail art would be a waste-suppose its just using your imagination isnt it? I fancy the airbrushing for quickness and neatness. Does anyone know how long youve got to wait before going onto the gel with creative? x

I agree with suze hun gel is the next step as all the basic nail art you can teach yourself xx

OK Jodi, having had this dilemma myself some years ago I decided that I really really wanted to do airbrushed nails. I went ahead and bought my IWATA airbrush and compressor which wasn't cheap and I really don't think I have had my money's worth out of it at all. I very very rarely get asked for it, even when I promote it, the idea seems to fall on deaf ears.

Honestly, if I were you I would go on the gel course as you are far more likely to recoup your money quickly. It also gives you another system to work with.

I know there are a lot of techs out there that use airbrushing very successsfully, but for me it just never took off.

I know that you can now do the Brisa course as a 'day 6' after your foundation course so you can probably do it when you want - best to check with Sweet Squared though in case I'm talking out of the back of my head:)

I really like to see air brush done on nails. Some of the nail art I’ve seen is so amazing.

I just gave my airbrush/compressor (all the goods) to a good friend of mine.
Calculating the cost, in the $100’s for the entire set-up.

I could never "work it" into my time allowed for nail art.
The cleaning/changing of paint took (me) too long. I never got good enough.

Gel on the other hand is fantastic, if you make a mess of a design; you wipe it off and do over.

Simple gel art will get the oohs & ahhs and how did she do that? Probably as much attention/money charged for air brush.

Didnt realise gel was so versatile! Will have to give sweetsquared a ring. Does anyone know how long youre supposed to wait from doing foundation l&p until they let you on the gel course? Thanks for the replies, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!! XXXX

I agree with what's already been said on the above posts...gel is definately the way to go IMO xx
