Hello
I am wondering if anyone has any idea what % of DHA is in the fake bake normal and darker solution???
They actually don't state this on their bottles and when I have asked, they don't tell you. I don't know if they actually don't know or they don't want to tell me???
The formula looks great when I spray it onto clients because they put so many bronzers in the formula which has the wow factor, but the next day some of the clients are disappointed when most of it washes down the plug hole!
All the other companies put it on their bottles! Why doesn't fake bake?
They also say that you will only get 10 to 12 clients per bottle! Not the best value for money.
What are your thoughts?????
Greatly appreciated

I dont think they actually know! I dont think there is much difference in the two shades either. Most people ive sprayed with it I do all in dark. The dark is more like 10% of my sienna solution (I used fake bake at work). xxx

hiya im not too sure either about the % sorry, but i always use the dark as it saves getting the two different colours and, i just apply a bit less if the client doesnt want to go too dark. alot does wash off when rinsing off the guide layer but the colour always seems to stay nice & dark for me & everybody ive sprayed. when i trained, i was told that you get around 20 tans per bottle (the 946ml), obv if the client wants 2 sprays, to go really dark it uses enough for 2 clients.(sorry if that last bit sounds a bit dumb, i didnt know how to put it lol) xx

I would say they are akin to a 10% and 12%.
Ok if you go over twice then you are wasting solution. You are only making the guide colour darker and not the tan developing underneath.
If you spray someone with a 10% solution then you get a 10% reaction. If you spray over them again then you're still only getting a 10% reaction but the guide colour goes darker. You should get 20-25 tans out of a litre bottle.

I use Fake bake and absolutely love it. I mix the two together and get fab results. It is actually darker than just spraying the darker solution. Hope that helps!

have you tried any of the newer organic based solutions that are alcohol and paraben free
When i was young my mother wore the perfumes of the day.... poison channel ect there still very good
but things have improved  manufacturing/dha extraction has got easier  and prices have ,,, reduced accordingly

We use it in the salon and it's about a 10. But the la tan 10 is darker. We have die hard fake bakers switch to la now. I find la lasts longer on my skin too as does nouvatan . I can get a extra couple of days out of them which is great and so can our clients.

Fake bake is over rated , there are loads of new generation tans out there that perform better.

Thanks everyone for all your input. At least I have an idea now! as I had no clue before!

I am seriously looking into getting another fake tan product as Fake Bake have increased their prices and one bottle is coming in at £54.05 (darker solution) including vat!

At the minute I do 2 sprays per client and I am now going to cut down.

I am trying to educate the clients that a double spay only makes the guide colour go darker and has no effect on the end result.

much appreciated

I wouldn't obsess over whether you do 2 coats or not. If you spray 1 thick coat it tends to take longer to dry, if you spray 2 lighter coats it tends to dry quicker. You dont necessarily use anymore solution either way as long as the 2 coats are lighter coats.

Hi, I did Fake Bake spray training in June 2009 and had made my money back by Xmas. I think the original is about 10% and the dark is 12%. I always do 2 fine coats as it dries quicker and thats how Fake Bake teach you how to do it. I have only ever used dark on myself as some clients a bit wary. I also use Suntana which is fabby. M ;-) xx:)
