Going on from Nailzoo's thread and the other recent threads re 'men' being a 'problem' for some therapists I thought it would be a good idea (prompted on by Fiona Wallace lol) to get a poll going re who gives us more problems and are more 'troublesome' as clients... men or women!!!

Hope I haven't missed anything out of the poll, if so please drop me a pm so I can amend it!

Feel free to add your experiences as and where necessary.

Its always the women that cause us problems - well not problems exactly, but they ring back for the least little thing, ohh my eyebrow is still red after my ebw, (it happened an hour ago, what do you expect, cause its gonna still be red - muppet

Aaaaah Sandi, I don't know, mainly because in our 11 years of business we have had literally 1000's of women through our doors but only 25-30 men...it is a little intimidating walking through a nail salon of 6 or 7 techs doing 6 or 7 clients (14 women:eek:) in order to get an eyebrow wax:lol:

We have stopped 2 women from returning in all that time and one man...but if we had had 1000's of men.....who knows???????????

The funniest story I must share with everyone is the guy who turned up for an eyebrow wax (he had apparently been a few times but I didn't know him) and there was a bit of a mix-up in the appointment book so I thought he was in for a massage...you can tell where this is going can't you???????

I took him through the room of 14 women:eek:, put him in one of the therapy rooms and told him to strip down to his underwear, lie on his tummy, turned the lights out and left...we WERE rather busy at the time (that's my only excuse!!!!):lol::lol:

Fortunately he saw the funny side after he got over his embarrassment!

Surely he didn't strip down to his boxers did he?!!

hmmm, think your wording is a bit ambigious Sandi to be honest, I don't know what to tick.

If it was enquiries, I would vote MEN everytime as I get a fair share of unsavoury enquiries. I had to pull my phone out of the socket every weekend for a while as men were ringing at 12pm on a friday and saturday night asking for me to go to their hotel rooms or house, I got one man ring at 6am saturday asking if I was open for business.
if I put ads on gumtree massage related I get about 4 calls a day from men asking about "ummmmmm massage, I'm a naturist you know".

if its clients per-say, I would say women for not turning up and then being shirty when you call them to inform them that they have missed their appointment.

So far, I have sacked 2 female clients for cancelling at the last minute (I always give everyone 1 benefit of the doubt).

I havent sacked any men YET.

1/3 of my clients are male, so I'm not maleist.

so I am struggling to decide which things to tick, as unsavoury enquiries NEVER EVER become clients.

for wasting my time due to unsavoury phone calls its MEN EVERYTIME.

I have one client who always "forgets" her appointments, so I always ring her a couple of days ahead just to check that, yet again, she'll be cancelling. I've still not got to the point where it doesn't bother me, indeed, it bothers me a great deal. She's always so blase about it too "oh, I've been poorly, I hadn't given my appointment with you a second thought!"
The appointments she has made she's spent a lot of money on, so I figure that as I'm the one with the vested interest in this relationship I'll just keep being pleasant and accommodating and one day she'll come good.
Am I bonkers?!

I have been very fortunate so far with the clients that visit my salon. I cannot remember any that stand out as having given me any problems.

Last week I had a new client that came for some male intimate waxing and it turned out he didn't have any hair to wax ... which was a bit odd.. but he left without any bother so all was well.

All of my clients, male and female, have been very nice people who I would welcome back into my salon again without hesitation.

OMG PMSL that made my day!!!

I only treat women, so far... so can't say it's more one sex than another.

But, what specifically do you mean by problems?
Someone who's always late and calls odd hours (like 10pm:rolleyes:)
Disrespectful?
Someone who doesn't heed advice?

What would count as a 'problem"?

I have just the same as you, once men are clients (and don't want extra's) they seem to be more reliable and loyal.
