How sad is this? I've not been "properly" out (ie without the kids) for so long I now have palpitations at the thought of going to a "black tie" do with hubby's work.

What would be acceptable for me to wear? I have a knee length black sleeveless beaded dress . . . but will everyone be wearing long dresses? (Well the women anyway lol)

Any advice hugely appreciated xxxxx:hug::hug:

Your dress sounds just fine hun,
you will get there and find that some women will have long dresses on while some will have knee length dresses on,
then there will be the odd one or two that have mistaken a scarf for a skirt :lol:
and you will find that some women have chosen to wear smart trousers,
i don't think it really matters these days,
you wear what you are comfortable in and have a great night :hug:

Your dress sounds FAB! I think you should be OK...

Can you ask some of the other wives what they'll be wearing? :)

I don't know any of them!! (My hubby works in a different area to theirs)

Thanks so much for your replies. Hubby says does he have to wear a ****ie bow tie? !

No does he heck, a nice tie of any colour will do :hug:

Your dress sounds fine!!

You sound just like me, I stressed last year at my boyfriend's works do as I knew nobody and I have bright pink hair lol. I just make sure I look fabulous, just like you will x

Dress sounds fab.

I'm going to a black tie ball in Jan and have a knee length black dress and have bought some purple shoes and bag to brighten it up a little.

Have a fab time and enjoy yourself xx
