Hi Guys,

Have been using the dual bowl method since I became a nail tech, but when I went for my calgel training started using the foil method, I think I like it better lol the only promblem is when I'm pouring the acetone i seem to get it on my on nails, so I bought some latex free nitrel glove pink too ! lol but the gloves stuck to some of my nails, they were ok but think the acetone managed to penetrate the gloves?? which ones do you use/recommend?

Thanks xx

Mmm, I would like to know too , espically when I soak off my own.I use the foil method on myself, and at some point on here someone mentioned about popping some gloves on after, so you ..can get on and do things.Im currently using vinyl gloves , but find they disintergrate:rolleyes:.

I use Nitrile gloves ... I think the answer is not to get the chemicals all over your fingers. I've never had my gloves stick to my nails.

What size of acetone container are you decanting from. If I buy a large amount of acetone/product remover, I tend to transfer it to smaller containers (c1/2 litre size) which I keep in the salon. To do this, I use one of those plastic funnel type things to avoid spillage.

I then decant a small amount of the acetone from the smaller bottle into a small bowl and then place 10 small pieces of cotton pad into that. I lift the cotton pads soaked in acetone/product remover with tweezers and place the pad on the clients nail and then wrap the tinfoil around to keep the pad in place.

What a great tip - thanks:)

I used the small acetone bottle that I got in my calgel kit, and had thought it would be a good idea to top this up as it is easier to carry aroound :D I think I'm just a bit messy lol or it could be just I'm not used to this method and will in time stop getting it all over my hands lol xx

If you decant some acetone/product remover into a small dish to saok the cotton pads in, you should be able to avoid getting product on your skin. Acetone is not something you want to be careless with.
