The more I look into which wax system to use the more I fret! I learnt with both hot and warm wax (from the good old pot, applied with a spatula). There is just sooooo much choice now that I don't know what to go for. I have had people talk about the 'hygiene' factor with pot/spatula and as this is on their minds I am less convinced of just going for what I know............. Thoughts/help would be really appreciated - what do I go for?:confused:

I am personally a pot and spatula fan. I don't actually think rollers are any more hygienic and I am sure there are therapists out there that re-use phd applicators. Hygiene is all down to the therapist and there is no reason why pot and spatula can't be hygienic. It is also more profitable :)

I have clients who are doctors and nurses and they all say that there is no danger in using a pot and spatula. I've seen therapists not change/clean the heads of their roller/cartridge systems. It all comes down to how clean that individual waxer works.

Go on.....go for the pot and spat. You know you love it! :) xxx

pot, spat and perron rigott wax all the way!!!
Have you recently qualified? if so can i recommend some extra training, you will feel much more confident. Kim does great training in all aspects of waxing. i did it after 10 years of waxing and learnt loads xxx

I use pot and spatula for smaller areas;
face
underarm
bikini
and a cartridge system for larger areas;
arms
back
chest
legs
switching to cartridge for larger areas was godsent
a)did my back a big favour
b) less mess (as i was dripping everywhere)
c) quicker procedure

this is what has worked for moi.

You just have to try a few and see what is best for you.
I prefer the Hive roller system because it's a hell of a lot quicker = more space for more clients.
It may work out a little bit more expensive but then your booking more people in so your making more anyway.
I do use the pot for things like lip, chin, eyebrows, bikini and underarm but these are quick treatments anyway. I try and convert people to threading on the face as I think it is a lot more kinder to the skin and cheaper for you to do!
xxx

Thanks all for your replies. It is more the hygiene side that I am concerned about rather than the speed element (although I appreciate 'time is money'). Reading other threads on waxing, it does seem that the good old pot is still very popular but I have had the seed of it being unhygienic sawn in my head and this put me off a little!

A lot of is it scaremongering. I'm a fact person, so when they show me the evidence, I'll believe it.

It's nothing to do with speed. I use a pot and spatula because you can't get into every nook and cranny with a roller system. xx
