Can someone please advise me as to why when I use white tips and I apply the l&p over the top in pink, the white tip becomes cloudy, it happens when I use clear powder as well.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I can only assume that maybe the bead ratio is too wet and the liquid is seeping into the tip.
Sorry I cant be of more help.

Do you buff the shine off the tip before applying your pink??

No I don't buff the shine off at all its baffling me cos the ratio seems just right yet it looks dull rather than a bright white.

If it looks dull .....is your ratio correct for the l&p you use?
Each different brand has it's own mix ratio - of 'x' parts liquid to 'x' parts powder.
It could be a number of things.... you may be using too dry a ratio and leaving unpolymerized powder within the l&p, or it's too wet and leaving air bubbles. Or you are using too much product (pink in particular) over the white which would make the white less Sharp.
Is your finishing & buffing right, are you using the correct grits and moving up to higher grits and creating a beautiful, smooth glass like finish you can see your reflection in? If not, it could be your finishing.
Are you working in an area where you may be getting a draft, which will affect the polymerization process and even cause the monomer which is un-polymerised to evaporate quickly, leaving a powder residue that just falls off when filing?
These are some of the problems I've encountered over the years.

It could be quite a few things as you can see, so, could you explain in a bit more detail- or even better post us a picture of the enhancement to look at?

I have never buffed the shine off a white tip - I have never had a problem.
I don't use white tips these days as I've learned to use sculpt p&w's.

Just try placing a bead of clear/pink onto an un-buffed white tip...go on, try it. It does not come off. Not in my experiences anyway (2+ yrs of using white tips).

If the techniciani using a gel inthat case any shine wouldhave to be removed form the tip first or the gel would peel off. But with L&P you do not need to remove it.

Maybe he products you are using are not entirely clear and this is what is letting you down, the quality of the product you are using?
