Hi guys, as some of you may know have not been around for a while and thank you all for you messages of support, it has meant alot

I qualified I think around Dec and despite several phone calls to my educator (she is really lovely but is hard to catch and never seems to return my calls), still have not received my certificate even though I passed my theory exam and practical all those months ago.

I decided to take things a little higher up and spoke to someone at NSI Manchester for some advice and to get a rough idea of how long I should be waiting for my certificate and was shocked to be told that where I did my training has NOTHING to do with them! (not even a franchise) So they suggested I speak to Glasgow office. They are aware of the person whom I trained with (they seem to talk of her in a fond manner) and she does buy from NSI and IS NSI trained but it seems anyone can just set up a training school if they wish and use the products. I`m NOT having a go at my Educator BUT am now wondering when I do get my certificate what it will say on it if it`s not actually from NSI?? I did ask the Glasgow office this but they were not sure but the point of this thread is to see if anyone else has been through this as I thought I was being trained by NSI (if you know what I mean) or does it matter, am I making a mountain out of a molehill, I feel a little (if not intentionally done by the educator) misled??

Hi just to add that I again tried to contact my educator re my cert today but she is on holiday.

if she miss sold you the course it maybe worth talking to someone in trading standards hun

Hi thanks for your reply

I`m not sure, the website says they are approved NSI training centre so I assumed I would be trained by NSI Representative and get an NSI qualification but I just keep thinking back to what the lady from NSI said on the phone of my educator that 'they are nothing to do with NSI' maybe I`m over analyzing things again!

can you get insurance with your qualification ? if they said you can and you cant they have miss sold you ! i would give TS a call let them look into for you hun as you have enough on your plate !!! take care

Hi again

I do have insurance, the company I went with did not require to see my cert. xxx

Is that the one based in Dundee? xx how are you doing hun? x

That's worrying! Have a good read of the small print!

they probably would in the event of a claim, and if the training was not approved by the company it would probably invalidate your insurance.

My dad always told me ... "whatever you do in life, whatever information you want, always go straight to the TOP to get it". The old horse's mouth so to speak.

I am amazed on a continual basis that people hand their money out to others before they 'go to the top' and find out if folk are genuinely what they say they are.

One reason all CND classes are booked through the S2 HEAD office is to avoid all the 'fakers' out there who claim to be CND educators but who are not ... one is being taken to court right now as I type, by a geek who was miss-sold a course. And I hope she wins a bundle. It is time all these shenanigans stopped ... the nail industry is full of rogues and thieves who see an opportunity to steal you dosh under false pretenses ... BE WARNED.

Hi again

Just thought I would update on my other post. Having spoken to a lovely lady from NSI Scotland it seems my educator runs a kind of sub training centre so the quote from the other NSI lady of ''your educator has NOTHING to do with NSI'' was not correct - phew!!!! so I did gain an NSI qualification after all but I guess as Geeg pointed out BEWARE as anyone can set up and take your money and really it`s just luck that in my case it turned out for the best.

Thanks for your replies to the original post.

Take care xxx
