Hi I am doing L & P on myself When i am rebalancing on French done with white tips, the white goes yellow. This must be through the clear acrylic over the top of the white cos I dont file much of that for rebalance
It looks terrible Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
Thanks:cry:

Is your brush contaminated?

I'll rephrase that ... Your brush IS contaminated.

You have let it go dry with monomer in it. Your brush should never go dry .. this is the cause of 99% of contamination.

Nail techs who are busy busy do not have this problem. Those who pick up a brush once in a while to do thier nails or others have this problem all the time. Expensive

Sounds to me like you are being lazy and not buffing enough of the surface off when you rebalance.

To check if your brush is contaminated pick up an application as per usual and lay it on a brush mat, if it's yellowish, then it is your brush.

As you are not trained you will come across heaps of problems along the way.

Where in Aus are you ?

Oh thank you. That would be it. I practice daily but only at night and the brush dries out through the day. I dont leave it soaking. Is this what I should do? Can the brush be saved or should I dispose of it?
To Nailzoo I live in a town (smaller than a town) called Rocky Cape in the north west coast of tasmania. What part of Australia are you in?

Have you thought about training? whats the training like in Tassie? I love Tasmania.. went on a 2 week driving tour of Tasmania and fell in love! Trying to think where north west is? Is that close to cradle mountain or further down?

anyway.. If you really do want to "do nails" and get loads of terrific advice and help along the way then definately look into training.. contaminated brush is the first step to a world of problems..
Honestly my brush gets lots of days off but i have never had to deal with a contaminated brush.. because my products are good and i know how to give it a daily bath.. I understand that tassie can be isolated, and hard to find a good nail tech.. (believe me i looked.. broken nail along the way and no tools to fix it myself.. i wore that broken nail all the way to Hobart.. thats where i finally found a good enough place).. So what im saying is your in a perfect position to be able to offer a service that is needed!!!
but not without proper training.. Good luck.. hope this helped a bit.. and bin the brush!

Hi
Where I am on the North West is almost as far North West as you can go. Have you heard of Smithton? Im not quite that far. I have tried to find somewhere to train. There is a place in Launceston which is half the state away but to be eligible you must work in a salon and go to college on block release. I am enrolling with Avalon (Have you heard of them) to do a correspondence course. I know that this is not going to be anywhere near enough but its a start. I have done a few DVD training sessions made by creative elegance. I use their products. I'm glad you liked our little state. Opportunities here are very limited but it does have its good points.
Cheers
