    Carving/etching/negative spacing

Ok - I think perhaps the following might help: Apply base coat - cure Apply sheer pink (I like CND Shellac Clearly Pink or Beau) - cure - for the full two mins Next, apply colour of your choice, let's say Overtly Onyx but DO NOT CURE. Next, carve out your design using a gel brush dampened with...

    Carving/etching/negative spacing

If the first colour coat is clear or natural it will mimic or even enhance the natural nail underneath. Does that make sense?

    Shellac base coat not curing?

Base Coat will still move when using the technique recommended by Fingernail Fixer. Your base coat is fine. Are you using the CND UV lamp?

You know your nail obsessed when...

When you pull the back seat of your car out to put a new cover on it and under the seat you find one thing, a lost treasure.......a bottle of polish!

    Shellac Desert Poppy?

It's been my most popular colour this summer (in Australia). I own every Shellac colour and only got this recently but already need a new bottle! Very different from Tropix and Lobster Roll.

    IBX Restore & Repair?

Now that's a great story to share - my clients will love this. They already love the story about Dadi Oil. Thanks for sharing! I love it!

    IBX Restore & Repair?

And I thought I hadn't missed a single key stroke of this thread. Back I go to read it all again!

    IBX Restore & Repair?

I'll be waiting with baited breath! Love a good story. Actually, the reason I asked (apart from my own curiosity) is that clients want to know. No doubt my clients won't be the only curious creatures.

    IBX Restore & Repair?

What? Another secret?! Actually, I can't believe I'm the first to ask. Linda! If you're out there I'm sure we'd all love to know the story!

    IBX Restore & Repair?

Can anyone tell me what IBX stands for?

    The shakes!

Simple cure - exhale. Breathing out is important. Before you start with your client do one long breath out. Then, if you shake during the service tell yourself to breathe out. It works a charm!

    Burnt orange Shellac

Try putting Hot Chilli over Rock a Royalty, or Hollywood over Purple Purple.

    Shellac hearts?

Clearly pink would be perfect for this style of nail art. It's called "negative space" so the heart needs to be clear. Also, always clean your brushes using isopropyl alcohol when carving Shellac as Scrub fresh contains acetone and can cause service break down. The way you described is...

    Gel tips, please don't ignore

Are using Cuticle Away? I think you may be leaving it on way too long. By the time you put it on all ten nails you can start cuticle removal. By leaving it on too long the nail may be absorbing it and therefore swelling the nail.

CND Geeks! Something special is coming

Hmmm. It seems this thread is missing now. Read it 12 hours ago but can't see it anymore.

    Vinulyx does not shine!

Can you describe your application process from start to finish? I've been using it since it landed here in Australia and it's always shiny. Might be something you are doing?

Shellac is dull; help me problem solve?

Could you have touched the nails with oily hands before using IPA? If solar oil or oily hands touch that top film before you wipe it with IPA the nails will remain cloudy. HTH

Iced Coral over Black Pool ombré!

It's gorgeous over Hot Pop Pink, Tropix, cocoa - anything really. Try wearing it and your clients will want what you have!
