Best glue for eyelash lifts and perms?

I have been using Thuya glue for years for my lash perms, but have recently started using the shields from Salon Systems - I bought the kit which contained the eyelash glue - but I am finding it really ineffective. The lashes seem to hold initially, but ping off when the perming solution goes...

    Gel sensitivity?

Awww - thank you! I am sure I did a thorough job - I am just a bit worried that she may have a sensitivity to the product.....so was unsure wether to do another set. I dont want to make matters worse. We will be soaking off the remaining nails tonight, and then assess from there.

    Gel sensitivity?

Will have a look for traces of gel...! They were NNO. Although after the course I 'had a go' at sculpting the thumb nails.....they only stayed on for 2 weeks. But it was only my second attempt, and she had moved house and was eating a satsuma at the time  I dont think I was...

    Gel sensitivity?

Hi becky! Yes definately used the proper prep proceedure - followed the DVD and the manual to the letter. It occured to me that she had somehow 'pulled them off' hence the trauma - but she swears she hasnt........ She did mention that she had a set of gel toenails done last summer - they...

    Gel sensitivity?

Hiya.......I am looking for a bit of help as I am still really new to this profession and am, quite frankly, flummoxed. I did my Calgel training last month and things have been going really well - repeat clients have come back for their maintenance with fantastic looking nails - no lifting or...

3 in 1 Eggpot wax heater - anyone?

Iuse the PHD Tea Tree wax in tubes, or the Oritree one, which is lovely too. I do prefer creme waxes though. It is a little worrying that you find that it is too warm...... :|

3 in 1 Eggpot wax heater - anyone?

Well, the plastic on the PHD heater has cracked around the booster chamber, so it will no longer hold the applicator stalk thingie whilst doing a treatment. Also, the rubber over the tops of the heater chambers have discoloured badly too. The temperature is also a bit hit and miss. Shall I go...

3 in 1 Eggpot wax heater - anyone?

I am looking for a new wax heater....after a year of sporadic use, my PHD unit has given up th ghost! I like the PHD method of individual tubes and applicators for each client, but do not like their heater at all. The new waxpot will give me the ability to heat wax pots or tubes, which sounds...

    Ok had enough....client officially sacked!!!

If SHE has left the ball in YOUR court.....do you have to do anything at all? Just dont contact her any more. If (and when) she contacts you, then you can tell her truthfully that your books are now full and are unable to fit her in...but you could put her on your waiting list, if she wishes.

    Valentines Promotions?

It is nearly that time of year again!! So what does everyone have planned to promote your services for Valentines? I thought I may visit some male-orientated workplaces to see if I can sell them Gift Vouchers (Beauty and holistic) for their wives/girlfriends - or maybe even avertise in the...

    Would Gel Nails be suitable?

Thank you, Teri! Thought about the glove thing. She has also had enhancements before...just once. She didnt like the 'artificial look' and apparenly had a really long free edge, so wanst practical for her. I was thinking of maybe doing a couple of natural nail manicures - warm oil...

    Unprofessional newspaper ad.

I think they must have been taking the 'attention grabbing' route. Not sure that I would apply for a job there - though I would ring them out of curiosity..... S xx

Split free edge - Calgel OK?

Hello all! I have a client that has a vertical split in the free edge of one of her thumbs. It is always there, and the rest of the nail is perfectly healthy, leading me to thing it is due to damage in the matrix at some point in the past. In the past, I have put a silk wrap on it, just to...

how do you deal with a dissatisfied customer?

Is that including tips/sculpts or just NNO's My friend said the tech used to take about 1h 15mins when she first trained, but now has it down to 40 minutes. I am pushed to do a proper manicure in that time, it has to be said........ Still, she is going to be one of my guniae pigs for a couple...
