Thank you Marie,i will try some.
Can i ask which size is best to order as they come in 3 sizes?

3 -4 per lash??? Wow, how do you manage to do this? I need to get mine looking more flufflier and thicker for my clients. So Mink is the way forward right??

xx

Please be careful in taking advice of applying 3-4 lashes of any kind to one natural lash!

I assume that the mink lashes that are being used are around the 0.10 thickness or less. Attempting to put 3-4 lashes of another size will result in disaster.

Mink lashes are great as they have different lengths and a unique look about them but they do require an experienced light touch in order notto kink the lash wen picking it up.

There is also a very big warning on allergies - some clients may have a severe allergic reaction as this is still an animal hair at the en of the day. The alternative to real mink is simulated synthetic mink ;)

Do you need to have uniquqe training for mink or as a certified lash specialist am i able to buy some and apply - assuming i can still use the same glue as i do for synthetic?

thanks!

xoxo

You don't need any special training. Minks are just extremely delicate and if you are heavy handed with your grip on them you will find that you will be putting kinks in them.

The piggy backing method - applying more than one ele to one natural lash - is something you need to be careful doing. I would recommend not using any ele thicker than 0.10.

If you over weight the natural lash it will fall out before it's time and ul find your client has gaps.
Each and every client will have diff lashes and you need to make a judgement call on if they are suitable for lashes. This being said it's not just mink lashes that this applies to - as a general rule only about 10% of the population that get lashed can support a true 0.25 or 0.30 thickness.

Stylists are happy to apply but some don't consider the long term health of the clients lashes!!

Ahhh ok - thank-you! I think ill stick to my one per lash haha xx

Oh gosh I'm not talking u out of them, just be cautious! Any learning experience is a good one :))

Thanks! I think I am going to buy some, I am sure someone will love them! I am thinking of lashbyfranchesca - is there another supplier you use which you recommend?

Not sure about the uk :( sorry - maybe u can try asking one of the other ladies in the uk

I would agree with all the above but would definitely be careful with where you purchase and if this is a personal purchase then make sure it is by a professional eye technician.

Mink eyelashes will make your eyes look great and give you the fuller and longer lashes you desire but like stated are very delicate and should be applied carefully.

Hope this helps
Joanne :)

finding this thread very interesting to read. How exactly would one apply 3-4 lashes per eyelash?

Hi. I am very intrigued as someone who only stocks and uses cruelty free products as to how this all works.
I have a bizarre picture in my head of a bunch of mink rolling around on people laps having their tummys brushed and having a wonderful time as somebodys pets!
But in reality aren't mink very timid creatures? How are they kept, living conditions etc.. are they caught or bred for this purpose?
I'm not meaning to start a debate, but would just like some facts from someone who may know :)

My understanding is that the lashes are harvested from mink which are kept in mink farms for the fur trade.

I have read that the lashes are collected by brushing the animals.

Personally, I find this hard to believe.

The mink are bred and caged to be slaughtered for their fur but are taken out regularly and groomed, then the hairs are removed from the brushes and used for lashes? Hmmm..

I love the idea of real mink lashes but I think the above scenario is extremely unlikely.

I read they are brushed too Ellibee....Personally if there is the slightest chance that real mink lashes have been obtained via any connection to the fur trade then I will never use them as I am totally opposed to any use of fur. Sadly I suspect these mink are ultimately used for their skin but I am still trying to find out. X

Same here.

AH Francis sell lashes that are 0.07 so the same as mink but they are synthetic!

I can't believe that mink are kept purely to be regularly brushed to provide lashes!

The hair for lashes is, I think purely a by product from the animals that are bred and slaughtered for the fur trade.

I have commented on this a few times on here in the hope that someone would come on a tell me I am wrong.

No-one ever has. Not even the geeks on here who I know supply real mink lashes. So until then I, for one, will never buy real mink lashes.

Almost 100% certain that these mink are kept for fur farming purposes. The brushing is probably on the dead animals anyway, slaughtered to make coats for vain women.

Anyone who choses to believe that real mink eyelashes are in anyway cruelty-free and that a little granny is keeping hundreds of pet mink in her pretty little cottage in Devon and brushing them nicely to take away their hair to collect for eyelashes - is very sadly mistaken.

As much as I can't believe people wear fur, I cannnot believe they're fooling themselves into thinking mink eyelashes are cruelty free.

Please if anyone is compassionate or ethically aware, do not participate in this cruelty and abuse of animals.

Rant over.

Totally agree and I do hope that anyone who uses these lashes tells the clients the entire truth and doesn't soft soap them with some cruelty free crap!

I for one won't be using them! The reality of how the lashes are obtained I can hardly read about let alone use. What a terrible abuse of animals. Rant over x
