Hi girls...I did my 1st set of l&p on monday (if you remember I posted on here about it?)...the lady in question had really wide nails and very curved....well i phoned her last night and she said 2 of them had come off the next day!!!....she was fine about it and said it wasn't my fault as I had explianed I wasnt too sure if the nails would be ok as I felt they maybe weren't the right type nails for her but it was all I had as she wanted french tips (I used Ezflow perfection) anyway....to cut a long story short....I'm gutted...my 1st set, a bloody disaster......my confidence is knocked already.....sorry to feel like this girls..x

Hiya - I don't think you have anything to lose confidence over hun . You did the right thing by telling her in advance that you weren't sure about the tips so you already are recognising potential problems, so that's a big plus. Did you get some new tips ordered? As you know where you went wrong things will improve next time. She sounds like a lovely client though! Chin up :) Linds x

Hi Linds....No I haven't as yet got more tips as I'm not sure which ones to use?...to be honest its kinda put me off doing her nails again (sorry if that sounds bad) but I have never seen such wide nails before and she also didnt have a table for me to work on, I was working via a little stool, stooped over, she was sitting opposite on a higher stool it was all quite uncomfortable as I was not at the right height etc, my back ached!!!..it's not an excuse, but if I'd known before I went that she didnt have a table etc, I would have put her off until I can afford to get myself a wee portable table.....I'm just so angry with myself this has happened, its put me off doing any more nails at the moment!...but thank you for your kind words x

Hi ya,
Don't feel down, this was your first set after all. You just need to pick yourself up and learn from experience. You did warn the client that this might happen and she seems fine with it. As for the table next time use an ironing board, its just the right width and adjustable, and once you've covered it an got your kit on it, you wouldn't even know. I know lots of geeks will agree. :)

I didnt think of an ironing board!....:smack:..how silly!....thanks debbie

Don't feel too down on yourself Hun, believe me we have all been there.

I still have times, when a new client will come to me for their in fills and have lost one. Even now i blame myself at first, although i usually find out later that they have bashed it or used it to pop out pills from a blister pack etc.

You know why it happened, so you must use it as a positive learning step and not a negative one. Always look on the bright side Hun, she isn't saying it's your fault and sounds as if she is happy for you to have another go.

Use it as a challenge and find a way of making them right, then you will get more satisfaction out of the fact you persevered. I know it knocks your confidence Hun, but if you grab the bull by the horns, so to speak, it will make you better and more confident for when another client like this comes along.

Hi ya,
I am very new to doing nails and my first few have been a complete disaster and it really put me off and i felt very disheartened but everyone starts of somewhere and i thought if my trainer thought that i could not of done it then she would not of passed me in the first place, you just have to keep practising and practising mine are getting better now!!!! :)

I Agree with TalentedTalons, you have to give it another go, Im assuming this lady paid to have her nails done, she sounds as though she is friendly and being very reasonable and by the sounds of things will be a patient model for you. I personally know exactly what you are going through. The sense of achievement you will get from conquering (sp) this problem will boost your confidence no end. Does sound like you need to reconsider your tip fit though. Good Luck.

Thanks Rebecca....I only charged her the fee I advertised for training (£10) she did want to give me £5 tip but I didnt take it as I thought that was too much so £10 was all it cost her (bear in mind I have to cover my costs...:))....I will have to buy different sets of nails before I attempt anymore clients with nails like that!....I feel a bit better today, yesterday I was ready for throwing in the towel!!........I will pick myself up..x

Thanks to the geek that pm'd with lots of support...you know who you are....:)...you are a star!!!!
