A question for you CND geeks

I am just wondering if you can use the sticky base coat for french maincure and would you recommend it?

Also I saw a few people on here saying that to perfect the smile line you can use a brush and another CND product. Is this product called scrub fresh?

Sorry for being so blonde. Ive only used the hand creams before and i'm just on the online store ready to abuse my bank card :lol:

Yes your right..
I'm going to do some tutorials t'mora and put them on youtube so i'll send you link.
Don't nesacerilly have to you scrub fresh by CND you could use Nail Pure by NSI but if your using CND products then it makes sense to,lol.

I usually put sticky on the tip first then 2 thin coast of white, I was never taught how to do a french manicure so I taught myself basically put on the white as neat as I can then dip a cotton bud in nail polish remover and create my smile line, then apply the pink over it all or clear depending on if the client wants it natural looking or in your face white lol hth xx

I always use Stickey. You can use Scrbfresh, but better yet, use Nailfresh. x

You can use stickey, but you can also use ridge out, or even toughen up.

I use Stickey for clients with PERFECT nails- no dryness, perfectly smooth, very healthy.

I use Ridge Out for clients with slight imperfections- ridges, etc, to give me a perfect, smooth base to apply enamel to.

For clients with thin, maybe even damaged nails, I use Toughen Up- it's keratin cross linking components add "toughness" to the nail plate, and is a GREAT base coat to anchor enamel.

Always remember, with CND products you can customize EVERY service to EVERY client Don't try to fit all the pegs into the same round hole

ANd I second using nail fresh for swiping a smile line, although I rarely use it- apply from corner to center in a slight sweeping motion with a quick steady hand, and you may find you don't need to correct anything

YeahYeah, oh IMO I do not believe that CND products scare techs, I believe that nail techs are courious as to why so many techs enjoy using CND products.
Personally I love Sticky along with its friend Super Shiney. They have never let me down in Manicures and Pedicures,and my clients positively comment on the long lasting results.

Have you had Sticky laboratory tested? is it really just plain old garden variety base coat?

You are a diehard NSI user and that is great, I like NSI to but unless you can back your comments with factual evidence, it really is unprofessional to ditch another brand.

Horses for courses - which base coat do you prefer?

A bit funny answer from the poster I have quoted. Why should I say that a product is the best if it's not (why would any "non-distributors"), who would benifit? Not me and not the ones asking the questions! I'm not getting any money from CND to tell peoble they are the best things I have tried, and believe me I have trid a LOT.

What I have tried and suggest to anyone in doubt, is to use the stickey basecoat (or any other product in doubt about) try it on, and then note down for how long the polish lasts, and then redo with with the plain old basecoat and see for your self. You would then know the difference, without taking it to the lab:green:

And for the poster, use nailfresh instead of scrubfresh, you don't need a lot, just an old brush lightly dampend(sp?) and correct.

Perfectly worded and well explained and i completely agree...stickey really does "anchor" the polish together and has such longevity...i still have the french CND on my hands now for 7 days and no chipping or dullness whatsoever.

Always remember meticulous manicure prior to application of enamel...I have not tried nail fresh,and i do not have to perfect my smile line as the brush dispenses just the right amount of white,providing you offload the brush on the neck of the bottle.I also have to add the white NEVER goes gloopy,and as ever CND enamels never lose thier viscosity...one thing that won me over:!:

Not quite sure how you can say this about CND Products! Just because you dont use them yourself (have you actually ever tried them??) doesnt mean you should slate them off. I personally find them excellent, have never had a problem. And I CERTAINLY dont agree with Stickey being "your plain old garden variety basecoat" I tried alot of basecoats and this has by far been the abosolute best. They also certainly do not make you believe they are extra special. They're products are QUALITY and thats why they have such a good reputation.

Yes you can use Stickey for basecoat when doing a french polish - or any polish and yes I would definately recommend it.
Yes the product is called Scrub Fresh.
Have fun in the Sweet Shop, dont spend too much!! :lol::lol: xx

Only personally testing will tell YOU what you like to use but if your anything like countless Techs arund the world then you will have superb results with CND products. It outlasts anything I have EVER used before.

actually i wasnt slating cnd at all, i did my original training with them and i do think they make good products. the only problem i've ever had with the company is the fact that their sales approach is extremely pushy and their customer service reps are downright rude. ive done one on one training with a certain cnd rep who told me flat out that their monomer is less toxic than any other brand and that its impossible to create enhancements with their strength and durability using any other system. being the educated professional that i am (wink* lol) i know that that is absoluelty not true. it was this attitude i get from the cnd reps that persuaded me to switch systems and ive been perfectly happy with that decision for years.
i dont feel the need to justify my personal opinion based on experience with factual evidence. and i also dont think we need to have our producs laboratory tested to know if they work or not lol, wouldnt care if Sticky was made with mermaid tears and magic fairy dust, if it works like every other basecoat ive used, its garden variety to me… and thats not saying i dont think its a good product… i just dont think its necessarily any better or worse than other brands ive tried. please dont jump to conclusions

NSI Geek yeahyeah, often users of a particular systems are very passionate about the system that they use and are very loyal - thats good and what makes salon geek an interesting site, we have passionate, CND, NSI, YN, Entity, and many others that geeks absolutely love.
I am pleased for you that you have found a company/system that works for you. Not jumping to conclusions and I wish you a lovely day.

I love sticky - best basecoat I have used.

In my early days when I couldnt get the perfect French without tidying up, I would have been absolutely lost without NailFresh - a life saver for the salon.
