Hi

I've been doing nails fir years and am creative trained.
Recently I have taken on 4 new clients and explained to them that everyother time I see them I will replace the White and other times fill in the pink and they have a said to me that each time there old tech saw them they replace the White every time.

Am I right in what I'm doing or there old tech!
I'm pretty sure I am but it has made me wonder, have I gone mad!!!

Thanks x

I replace the white everytime I rebalance after 2-3 weeks to keep the nail uniform and in proportion. Some do choose to just infill, but I like to rebalance the whole nail.

Depends on client, some i have to do every 2 weeks, some every 4 weeks, depends on their natural nail bed length and nail length for me.

Also depends wether i use a sheer pink or a masque pink

i do the full works at every visit.
that way i can place the white properly. i think if you only do the white every other time then you will have to put it in a position that is less flattering to the nail to allow for the growth rate. unless you use a coverage pink.

Depends on the clients growth rate but generally do the same as you, infills one visit rebalance the next. I only have 2 that need this more often. ;)

hi Saphire nails.
i tend to do a full maintenance every time too! though the majority of my clients always have colours or glitters at ends .... so want to change each time!:green:
it is a convo topic with their friends family! and colleagues !! as to "what colour you having this time??" ... and they spent the filing time deciding out of my ever growing colour range!!! :green:
although if u use a opaque pink each time .. u will not see the growth of the natural nails... so i sure doing infils will suit..and full every other time..
as a rule i leave the opaques powders to when a client has trama to nail from previous bad technicians! ( which i have lately had a surge of!! ring of fire ladies!!):grr:
or nail bitters who want the nail bed lengthened.
when i have a new client in for a full set, i do ask for there 1st appointment to be 2 weeks. to assess their nails.. make sure they have got on ok. liked them etc!!
u can sometimes get more movement ( lifting) with the 1st few weeks, espc if they are new to enhancements.. or have short nails to begin with... and the majority will just need an infill then ( or mini maintenance as i call them) then book another 2 weeks for the full works..
im sure what every u are doing is fine... we all have different techniques to others and as long as u are giving ur clients 100% and they leave happy with gorgeous nails.. :D
maybe find out a little more on what they had done with their previous tech??
gap between appts?? price? and more importantly why have they decided to come elsewhere for their nails??
im sure if u explain ur way. and that an infill is cheaper than a full works.. they will think it a bargain anyways!!

enjoy!!!

Thanks kella,

The clients i was refering to are my clents that I see every 2 weeks, the ones I see 3 weeks plus I do replace the White every time, I'm pretty sure that when I did my training with creative in 2002 that they told me that, i must go on a refresh tobring me up to things.

Thank you everyone for you comments

I believe it is just the personal preference of the client and the tech and if the client wants to pay the extra for the full rebalance every two weeks--that is their choice.
I charge one price for a backfill (at the eponychium area), a little more for the infill (at the smile line) and a little more for the full rebalance (taking down all the product to reposition the smile and the apex).

I hardly have 2 weekly clients with enhancements, most 3 weeks, some 4 weeks. And I do rebalance every time! Nothing looks better than new shiney French) ;)
