I'm an older tech (58) who prides herself on being current. I recently returned to doing nails so I'm full of passion! I was at a nail supply store and the tech ahead of me in line was a women in her (late) 40's. She and the clerk were discussing uv polish. I heard the saddest words a nail tech can say
"I'm old school".
She said she only does l & p and RNP. Of course , I had to butt in and ask if she has tried UV polish, she said she applied it once to herself but it peeled the next day and never tried again. What a shame!
On the other hand, I went to a Sephora makeup store looking for new eyeshadow. Shimmery eyeshadow does me no justice. I have wrinkles, I earned them but I don't want an eyeshadow that says "hey! look at me shimmering in this wrinkle!" Matte works for me best. The employee helping me was in her early 20's and INSISTED that I could wear shimmer. So, in the spirit of being open minded I agreed to having her apply it on me. She did and said it looked ok. I said , Hun I don't buy anything that looks "ok", I only want fab! Lets go by the window and see how this looks on me. We did, and then she said "we'll, you're right. Let's look at some matte. LOL Being the middle aged consumer I am, I requested another make up artist who know more than her own age group to help me.
