Hi everyone,

I've recently done a course in intimate waxing (male and female) and am looking for a good hot wax to use in my treatment room (the trainer used Just Wax and it was okay but the temperate seemed a little inconsistent and it looked awful in the pot!) but having looked at a number of threads about hot wax, I'm a little confused (nothing unusual there then!)

So, what I'm getting is that there isn't much to be had between Perron and Berins and I;ve to try them to see which I like best but where I'm confused is with the application as some of the threads seem to indicate that with some of the waxes, you just apply with then immediately pull against the direction of growth instead of how I was trained which was against, with, against the direction of growth then pull against??

Has my training been lacking or are these waxes so fancy that there are several way to apply them?

Any light would be gratefully appreciated :)

With both PR and Berins there is no need to apply 'against, with, against'... you can simply apply with the direction of the hair growth. I wouldn't say you immediately pull though! The wax needs to harden first, but that is the same with all non strip waxes.

Non strip waxes did use to be less sophisticated and would be applied in a figure of eight to basically entangle the hairs in the wax. Modern non strip waxes 'shrink wrap' the hairs so there is no need to entangle them :)

Hope that helps!

Hi, thanks for your reply!

So what we're saying is that the training I received was with a wax that needs the figure of 8 but with higher quality, more technologically advanced waxes, I simply apply, wait a short while then pull? That sounds too good to be true!!:p

Presumably I will still require to flick up one end to use to pull against the hair growth but would I still push down on the wax to ensure adhesion or is this not required either?

To be honest I don't know absolutely for sure whether Just Wax needs to be applied in more than one direction. Don't worry about that. But yes, PR and Berins can be applied in one direction. Yes you do need to flick up the end and yes, I would recommend you use some pressure when you apply the wax. You will get a better result if you apply a little bit of pressure.

Actually that is only partly true and tended to be used for hairs that grew in different directions. I took the old hot waxing exam and wax was applied against the direction of hair growth in neat strips.:Love:Modern hot wax is def better though!

That's great, thanks for clearing it up for me! Now, to buy myself a tin/packet of each and see which I like best!

Thanks a million!

To talk straight, it sounds as though you were trained with an old fashioned and maybe cheap wax. The superior waxes such as Perron Rigot are very easy to use and much kinder to your client. You get what you pay for in life.xx

Phone PR and Berins for a sample, you can then have a play with them and see how they work. That way you can decide which wax you would prefer. :D
I use PR Euroblonde, totally love it. :D
