Best way for a thin NNO?

Im wanting to do a NNO on my own nails and want to keep it very thin, which way is acrylic best applied for a very thin nno? Normal way in zone 1,2 then 3 or starting at zone 3 and brushing it down? iykwim

Forgot to add i have short nails because any growth keeps splitting on me so i will be overlaying in just 1 colour.

NNO can be as thin as you like and its all about how much you apply....but bare in mind that the thinner you do them the more likely they are to chip or break...NNO should be able to withstand the flex of the natural nail...application too thin wont be able to do this and so with chip or break under the strain....the overlay should be thicker than your natural nail to withstand any knocks or flex from the natural nail. x

I really struggled with this at first, but i read a suggestion on here i think about using a form just to make sure the free edge is neat and capped , not to extend. My trouble was chipping at the free edge and then breaking the seal when i filed. But putting the form on really helped with my application both in its finish and longevity.
I'm sure i should be able to do it well without a form but when doing it on myself it helps!

I've just been thinking the exact same thing but i've come up with natural nail overlay after reading the posts hth (hope that helps)

I always use a sculpting form to do a Natural Nail Overlay.

There should always be just a tad of product ahead of the free edge to add protection.

Even when you file the free edge ... that 45º angle is very important so that there is always the product ahead of the free edge; if you don't have this the nails will chip.
