Hi geekies, I am considering going on the Bio training course, just wondered, what Bio is like, can you sculpt with it like Brisa for instance? ... I dont have alot of info here, other than what Bio Sculpture has sent me and thats all shiny and glossy and "please book us please please pretty please" lol.. nothing showing the end result thou... anyone have any pictures of work they do?

Cheers luvies:hug:

I sculpted the other day with Bio and was very pleased with the results. How they wear I have yet to find out but other Geeks have been very positive. They have also brought out a new sculpting gel which I have not got yet.

I usually use Bio for natural nail overlays and it is excellent with a great finish.

Have a look at the pictures on the Bio Sculpture Group to give you an idea of what they look like.

As you know it is not as hard as say Brisa and doesnt work as well with tips but is great for overlays and natural looking sculpts.

HI

Biosculpture is fab, their new free edge gel is really really nice, not had feedback yet on it but i used it on two nailbiters on saturady and it was brilliant, so easy to use.

As for tips tbh on the rare occasion that i do tips i would use clear gel then s-gel, i never get any problems with tips. It's all to do with chosing the right product and getting your nail balanced.

I would highly reccomend it.

Check out the biosculpture group too.

Although I've yet to try the free edge gel for myself (and I will make a point of getting some when I place my next order), I think it's going to be just perfect for nail-biters and for those clients who happen to arrive with a broken nail or two.

As mentioned above, be sure to check out the Geek Gallery and Bio Sculpture Group for some great photos.

I too have tried the new Free Edge gel....but I tried it on myself to test it. I am loving the way its wearing. It was very quick and easy to sculpt with....thought it would be more difficult when i saw the consistency as its quite thin and runny, but no, it self-levels beautifully, but stays where you put it on the form. Its strong and very fresh looking, providing a gorgeous natural yet tough enhancement.

I have also left it natural (as opposed to POW french) and out of interest asked a couple of people to pick out which nails are natural and which are sculpted...a trained tech would be able to tell, but Jo Public has had a tough time by just looking down at it!

Clients love the colours...they are rich and beautiful, and once a client has tried a colour they never want to go back to enamel. It is also awesome for coloured toes - lasting 6-8 weeks. I offer a mini-pedi, plus Bio toes and it takes me less than an hour....and for that I charge the same as my infill/nno price.

I find Bio a great complement in my portfolio alongside a my buff off gel. IMO one would never replace the other.

Hi there

I have to admit I've always loved Bio, even though I haven't done any nail and beauty stuff for a couple of years I still have my bio stuff, and would take it up again.

I shall have to check out the new product, sounds interesting.

Where's this Bio Sculpture Group?

I adore Bio it was my first and only system for a while as I have always had it on my own nails, as overlays.

Never had no problem with tips and bio, only I get a lot of customers wary about bio and gel in general (a Derbyshire thing? Maybe) thats why I also trained with Creative so I could offer more than one system.

It's quite surprising how many customers who have only ever had one system will not want to convert.

The colour range is wonderful and there isn't a bad colour IMHO very rich and vibrant.

I love it! And so do all my clients. It has made my business, the thought of only being able to offer Natural or French (and no fashion shades) as I used to when just using Brisa, seems impossible now. When I converted, I found that existing Brisa clients, used to their French, first started with a Bio French then moved to a subtle colour then to something more daring - now they will try anything! And this goes for new clients too. The colours are simply gorgeous.

When i done my Bio conversion course i was getting calls after for l & p and that what peeps wanted so then done a l&p coversion course.

Bio has a lovely range of colours i only like using it as an overlay,on a short nail,i dont find it strong enough if you want to wear it on a long nail ,the nail bends and split,i find the white goes grey after a while and do be aware there is a minimum order fee of £40 if you want stock posted to you, which can be a pain.

I havent tried the new sculpting gel yet, found the old one to flexable. If your going to do Bio i would also train in something stronger as it may not suit everyone, but thats my opinion on Bio anyway. It is expensive stuff too.But for a permanant short coloured nail its great.

I find the "short nail overlays" only quite a strange one to be honest.

I mainly use Bio on overlays, yes but on long or short nails it seems fine to me and my clients. I have long natural nails with bio overlay and can honestely say my nails do not bend or split but I am careful with my nails, I also give lots of advice on aftercare to my clients and regarding top coats.

Not that they always follow it!! The white should not go grey if your clients use a good top coat and book regular infills, if they are serious about their nails they will do this.

Whats the application procedure for bio sculpture coloured gels? Can I apply them onto my buff off gels? x

Yes, but you shouldn't need to. Bio is strong enough by itself. I never have any problem with Bio strength on long nails (or to be honest tips - although I rarely tip because I can't be bothered!)....you just need to build an apex (and it doesn't have to be that big...but any gel needs something across the stress area. Mine are the same size apex as my buff off gel). I wear long almonds most of the time and they never bend/break or lift.

Bio might not be rigid, but it is very durable - thats it's beauty.

For application procedure, see this step by step...

Bio Sculpture

The white does discolour slightly, dependant on how well you follow your aftercare, but I have more or less eliminated discolouration by using a combination of sealer and S-gel as opposed to the regular clear gel

I understand one fo the benefits of the reformulated clear when it comes out will be less discolouration of the clear and white under.

Thanks lyndsay. If anything id purely use it for the colour gels. So am I right in thinking for a colour overlay it includes just the application of a base gel, coloured gel and S-gel? Think i'll give them a buzz and ask for an information pack. x

Yep, although you can finish with either S-gel for strength, or Sealer gel...which is more of a top gloss, for shorter nails and toes.

They are at ExCel if you are going? And usually have some good show offers on.

Well .. I have my tickets. To cut it short, ive got a good offer on a new skincare range and I was first and foremost going for this reason. But they have now told me I dont even have to go and they will still give me the offer. So im debating about going.
Im sure i'll end up going and spend more money
