I normally just use Biosculpture for natural nail overlays and prefer l&p for sculpting.

I have a client who loves Biosculpture but wants sculpts ideally with Biosculpture. I haven't got any practice in doing sculpts with Biosculpture but know how to with a combination of Biosculpture and silk.

The client is going on a cruise for 3 weeks so I don't really want to be leaving anything to just chance and want to be confident that her enhancements will last well for the 3 weeks.

For all you fellow l&p and Biosculpture geeks, what would you advise? (Perhaps my Calgel mates could advise too.) Thanks!

Hey Christine! Hope you OK hunny!

French or Colour? Doesn't really matter...

Firstly! A fantastic prep - don't need to tell you that! But the sidewalls need to be really clean for a sculpt to really last. No exec base, but plenty of vitamin dose and let it dry well.

Then a double silk sculpt with (IMO) sealer gel on the natural nail if it's french (yellows less) clear if its colour, then build your sculpt using sculpting gel for the FE (on top and under the FE), short cure, pinch and full cure, and then S-gel for apex strength. Refine if needed.

Then finish colour or French....sealer AND top coat. Retail her a polish remover and top coat and get her to change it weekly.

Haven't road tested the new Free Edge gel enough to say for that yet...

Good luck....it'll be fine. I have plenty of clients go 3 weekly - even over 4 in my mums case and she digs out the eyes of potatoes with her enhancments! I caught her at it again last night! xxx

Thanks Lyndsay - great advice as usual. I will keep you posted on feedback.

try the form then use clear layers first about 2 then do the smile in white then another clear, make sure there is good arch esp where the stress area is,personally i would try use fibre for added strength if you cant convince her then tell her you cant gaurantee that they last 3 weeks. have faith in your self if she trusts u with her nails she must like you to do the sculpts so go for it.

Thanks girls! xx:hug:

Is that method with the Bio Sculpture? Would the clear gel be stong enough for sculpting with? I have found the sculpting gel a far better consistency for extending with silk (but still waiting to try the new free edge gel).

Zingara - I realise I am probably being very ignorant here but does vitamin dose really prove worthwhile before applying the gel?

You are not on your own here Chris - it is one product I have never really used, without really knowing what benefit of it would be.

I can't say that it does anything for the actual enhancement, but I must admit I feel it does help the natural nail underneath. I just advocate a dose before the enhancement as it gets straight to the nail then.

I actually love Executive base...it really does make the nail lovely and healthy (lol, I tested it on one hand!), but I do think nails lift more easily with it, so unless I know someone is having a short term set of nails for an event, and a soak off fairly quickly, I don't often use it. So I use vitamin dose instead...it certainly does no harm to the enhancement as long as its fully dried. And its packed full of vitamins and good stuff...I guess the best advice I can give is try it and see. I like it!

I have only recently started to re-use the executive base again after only using it when I first started training in Bio. I have found that as long as
I buff the shine off the exec base after it has dried (as advised by my trainer) then the lifting isnt really an issue.

Not tried this method enough yet to say whether I prefer it but I did an infill on a client last week whose original set had exec base under and all but one nail were fine. Her nails were in a bad condition when I started with her Bio so only time will tell.

I've kind of gone off it and on it and off it again, several times! It really is great for the natural nail, but the gel simply doesn't adhere as well, where there is executive base and I have had a couple of instances of what looks like pocket lifting. When I've filed down for infill...the gel rips easier in those areas. And I promise its been fully dry and buffed before the gel goes on!

I think as long as someone takes care of their nails, then exec base is great and no problems...its those that don't take care, and then a/ you occasionally get lifting but more so b/ they come back for an infill with gel intact but really ragged looking, and it makes my job harder!
