Hey there, I've asked regarding Botox ..it does stop sweating if injected in the face.

Good luck:)

i think i will get it done next year. i want to wait until about april since the effect of the injections is temporary and my problem is worse as the wheather warms up. i'd hate the botox to have worn off by the time summer comes. if its a good success through the summer, then i can think about carrying on with it.

I ordered the perspi foot spray, it worked but only for a few hours, think my hands & feet must be too bad lol, I cant get them dry enough even to spray it on....

It is the only thing that did stop the sweating even for a short while, my temperature is highly affected by the sweating on my hands & feet & makes my life hell.

Im seeing the specialist at the hospital tomorrow morning (Sat).....So ill let you know how it goes.

Does anyone know if the persiguard can be used on your face, or is it just for underarms??

I've watched a t.v program where a young hairdresser had botox in her face to stop sweating, unfortunately for her it didn't work, but she did have a severe problem. They did mention though that as the botox wears off you have to have repeat treatments and over time your body may become immune to the treatment. So this is a short term solution but well worth it if you have this problem I am sure.

i am excited i have my consult for botox in my armpits on tuesday and will hopefully be getting it on the nhs so will keep anyone posted that wants to be.

Well, just had my consultation:

Iontophoresis - This is the treatment that I have been advised, I am going for several sessions at the hospital.....If successful, I will be able to purchase the machine and treat myself at home.

If that doesnt work I will go on to botox in the hands & feet, they grid my hands and feet, then inject each area, which the consultant advised is very painful & not avail on the NHS in my area, so I will have to pay.

The Iontophoresis is apparently avail & very good for underarms too.

So I will try the treatment and let you all know how it goes.

Has anyone hafd this treatment???

There is a product called Obadan which is for sweating including facial sweating!

I have used it for about 6mths

You spay i on an evening before bed on dry face - I found in some places it tingled but it was bearable, you can shower/bathe the next day.

Reapply each night for several days and then can be reduced - it worked on me:lol: it makes your face feel a bi tight at first - think of the sensaion after cleansing and toning!

When I get a chance I wil find the link - it costs about a fiver for a small bottle xx

oooh, sounds interesting.
has it damaged your skin at all ?

I suffered from excess sweating for years and years and i got really down about it.
For the past 3 years i've been havinf botox under my arms and i can honestly say it has changed my life! I can wear any clothes now as against only being able to wear black or white and of only certain fabrics. It is expensive but imo worth every penny and it wasn't painful.

Just a quick update on my Iontophoresis treament it has completely stopped my hands and feet sweating, controlled my body temperature (im warm lol)...

It has been fantastic!

I do have to purchase the machine though to use it at home, but anyone who suffers wih the hand and feet thing - go ask your doctor for this treatment x

they were talking about botox in the sweat glands on ch5 this morning the wright stuff had a dr on ... apparently very painful and there are some 100 odd sweat glads in underarms ... 100 injections yowch ... blocks the glads for upto 6 months and quite expensive

hey didnt one of the guys have it done (sharon osbornes nephew ?) on the tv programme The Salon ... he looked very uncomfortable as i remember lol

kx

Simply not true. I administer this treatment regularly. It is not very painful at all - obviously people have different thresholds - no-where near 100 injections! This is where misinformation can lead to scaremongering. For people with severe underarm perspiration this tx can literally change peoples lives - usually lasts around 9 months per treatment and costs between £400- £500 for both underarms, usually about 20/30 injections per underarm - but we are only going mm's under the skin surface.

As for face - not really a tx for facial sweating as some facial areas are inappropriate to inject botox because of muscle anatomy.

Hope that clears some things up X
